The following bootleg titles are unauthorized releases (i.e. without permission from the band or the record company) and thus infringe copyright regulations making them illegal. Generally the source of these recordings are from FM Radio Broadcasts and hence on the whole are of very good/excellent stereo sound quality. I have no idea where to obtain the following recordings but a good source is Record Fairs especially for CDs. Vinyl recordings are very scarce these days although a number of titles have been transferred onto CD. Apart from Record Fairs there are a few on-line Record Stores that maybe able to help.
Each title entry (where known) details the format, number of tracks. length, label and discography (note, a double slash is used to separate unrelated tracks). There are also sections detailing the source of the recording and additional general comments.
Appended at the end of the list, is a date and venue cross reference to enable people to identify particular titles (e.g. choosing titles from a particular time period or tour or maybe looking for a title where you attended the concert) or help identify duplicates (and chose between similar recordings). There is also a track and date cross reference to help look for titles that contain a particular number(s).
A BUNCH OF RARITIES Format: CD, 17 tracks, 72 min 54 sec Label: Buttwipe Records: BW01 (1993) Disc: Hangman Dury/Big Ten Inch Record/Dream On/Train Kept A Rollin'/ Walkin' The Dog/Toys In The Attic//Don't Stop/Head First/ Livin' On The Edge(Demo)/Deuces Are Wild//Mama Kin/Train Kept A Rollin'/ Dream On//Train Kept A Rollin'/Walk This Way//Walk This Way// Beavis & Butthead Comments Recorded: Tracks 1-6 from MTV Unplugged at Ed Sullivan Studios, August 11, 1990. Tracks 7-10 detailed as Get A Grip Non Album Tracks and found on various US and UK Get A Grip singles. Tracks 11-12, Guns And Roses with guests Tyler and Perry at Palais Hippodrome de Vincennes, Paris, June 6, 1992. Track 13, Dream On (MTV 10) as on Last Action Hero Soundtrack. Track 14-15, Live at Castle Donnington, England, August 18, 1990 with special guest Jimmy Page. Track 16, Bon Jovi with guests Tyler and Perry at Milton Keynes Bowl, England, August 19, 1989. Comments: Excellent quality but more a compilation of bits and pieces which aren't that rare. Only rare track is the performance with Bon Jovi. Unusual to see a boot contain released and copyrighted record company material (i.e. GAG tracks). Track 17 is Beavis and Butthead extract that follows Deuces are Wild on The Beavis And Butthead Experience Album. ACOUSTIC Format: CD, 16 tracks, ?? min ?? sec Label: None. Comments: Excellent: side 1 and 2 (stereo), side 3 and 4 (mono). Side 1 and 2 seem to be a selection of the tracks played at the Hampton concert and includes Bone To Bone which does not appear on any CD equivalent of the concert although the number was a regular in the set before Dude. It lists the source as being Hampton in Vancouver. The San Bernadino concert is a month into their USA Done With Mirrors Tour. Apparently only 300 made (Japanese). Only one of a few recordings to have No Surprise live. The second encore set comprised of Young Lust to Walk This Way. Monkey to Janie were the first 4 opening numbers with Mama Kin cut from midway in the set. This infamous Aerosmith concert, which was the last at the end of their 18 month GAG tour, saw the band going back to their roots playing mainly 1970s material with only a couple of tracks from their recent Geffen days. The original concert was 80 minutes in length and this is a selection of tracks in the order they were played. Other tracks played were Three Mile Smile, Mother Popcorn, Milk Cow Blues, Back In The Saddle and Walkin' The Dog. Rare source for tracks such as Think About It and I Wanna Know Why. This infamous Aerosmith concert, which was the last at the end of their 18 month GAG tour, saw the band going back to their roots playing mainly 1970s material with only a couple of tracks from their recent Geffen days. Rare live performance of Rattlesnake Shake. This isn't the complete broadcast which included Cryin' ,Walk This Way and Stop Messin' Around (similar to House On Fire but it carries Stop Messin' Around). One of the earliest known concert recordings of the band playing all but one of the tracks (Make It) from their debut LP which was released at the start of 1973. The influences of the band are plain to see from the various covers played with an early rendition of Train which would appear on their next album a year later. Comment: Aired as a Radio FM broadcast. Quality is excellent. Jimmy Page guests with band on Train and Walk This Way. Short set as Aerosmith was co-headliners on the day with Whitesnake being last on. Identical to Donnington 1990 and Train Kept A Rollin' CDs. Comments: Very Good Mono Audience Recording on USA Pump Tour. The concert is a date before the infamous Philadelphia, PA recording (e.g. Flight of The Owl) and contains several additional numbers. F.I.N.E. is listed as I'm Ready, Monkey On My Back as Play So Funky All Night, Hangman Dury as Love Comes Tumbling Down, and Voodoo Medicine Man as Some Kinda Voodoo. S.O.S. (Too Bad) is listed as Schoolboy and Need Love is not correctly identified. The setlist does not bare any resemblance to a 1978 set so suspect recorded around 1975 era. Since its only a fair mono recording , its had to say if its the Central Park concert ( New York, Aug., 1975) but definitely from that tour. In that case Need Love is probably Write Me A Letter. Unsure why Train appears twice unless the first one is a mistitle. Comments: Excellent Stereo. Strangely Mama Kin omitted from the recording (after Amazing - poor edit). One of few rare occasions where Flesh and Fever were played in the same set. This concert was probably one of the most dominated with GAG numbers (a majority of it on Disc 1) and apparently the live outdoor debut of Crazy. A majority of Sweet Emotion is cut and commences from the start of the guitar solo onwards. Dude and Dream On are listed together as one track. Comments: Excellent Stereo. Another release carrying this Philadelphia 1990 concert. F.I.N.E. listed as I'm Alright (I'm Ready), Monkey on My Back as Get The Monkey Off Your Back, Mama Kin as It Ain't Easy, and Love In An Elevator as Loving In An Elevator. Also lists Hoo Doo prior to Voodoo Medicine Man which I assume refers to the song's intro. Unlike other releases, Draw The Line is not listed so unsure if it has been omitted given Walk This Way is included. Comments: Excellent stereo. The concert is a A King Biscuit Flour Hour FM Broadcast and one of a number of bootlegs containing a different selection of tracks. It has an excellent raw sound with numbers from their new Toys in the Attic album. Walk This Way is listed as Walkin' The Dog on both issues. LOVE ME LIKE A BIRDDOG Format: CD, 17 tracks, 75 min 10 sec Label: Haight Street Records HS010 Disc: Love Me Like A Bird Dog/Take It Easy/One Time/Joe's Funky/ Love Me Like A Bird Dog//Once Is Enough/Girl Keeps Coming Apart/Hollywood/ Danger Street/Sleeping Sickness/St. John/Joe's Funky/Got to Find Away/ Dude Looks Like A Lady/Permanent Vacation/Hangman Jury Recorded at: Tracks 1 - 5 from Rick Rubin Sessions NYC February 1987, Tracks 6-17 Listed as Studio Rehearsals Spring 1986. Comments: Excellent demos and outtakes from the Permanent Vacation era. Question date detailed for second set of tracks (spring 1986) as Aerosmith were on the Done With Mirrors tour from January-August 1986 especially as DWM wasn't released until Nov. 85. These tracks definitely post-date the first session from February, 1987 and assume period is Spring 1987 since Permanent Vacation was released in Summer 1987. There was apparently six songs in the Rick Rubin demos which also included Hollywood. Hangman Jury not listed on CD. CD lists Rick Rubin as Rick Robin. Love Me Like A Bird Dog is apparently the fore-runner of Dude (Looks Like A Lady). LOVE IN AN ELEVATOR Format: CD, 14 tracks, 65 min 54 sec Label: On Stage Records CD 12057 (1993) Disc: Monkey On My Back/Janie's Got A Gun/Young Lust/F.I.N.E./ Voodoo MedicineMan/Rag Doll/Dude (Looks Like A Lady)/Heart's Done Time/ Draw The Line/What It Takes/Mama Kin/Permanent Vacation/Love In An Elevator/ Walk This Way Recorded at: Winterthurer Musikfestwocken Festival, Winterthur, Switzerland, August 31, 1990. Comments: FM Broadcast. Excellent Sound. A selection of 14 of 20 tracks played at this concert. All inter track appaulse and band dialogue with the crowd has been removed so you lose the continuity and feel of a live concert. The numbers also aren't in the order they were played. A better choice would be the 2CD of the whole unedited concert:: - Rock This Way. MAD BAD & DANGEROUS Format: CD, 7 tracks, 33 min 35 sec Label: LOBSTER RECORDS CD027 Disc: S.O.S. One of a few recordings with Jimmy Crespo on guitar for the departed Perry. 1974 (NINETEEN SEVENTY FOUR) Format: CD, 11 tracks, ?? min Label: Mistral Records MM9109 Disc: Walking The Dog/Schoolboy/Someboy/Big Ten Inch Record/ Sweet Emotion/Dream On/Write Me A Letter/Walk This Way/No More, No More/ Same Old Song And Dance/Train Kept A-Rollin' Recorded at: Details live 1974 Comments: Excellent Soundboard. Can't be totally 1974 with tracks from Toys In The Attic. Possibly a selection of tracks from 1974 and the Central Park, August, 1975 concert as very few recordings with No More No More on. It is assumed Schoolboy is S.O.S. (Too Bad) as similar mistake on "Live in 1978". This recording also carries Joe singing Milk Cow Blues, which Aerosmith would eventually record some 3 years later on Draw The Line. Comments: Another CD set carrying various outtakes from the Permanent Vacation sessions in 1987 Magic Touch (disc 1, track 1) has different lyrics to that on Permanent Vacation. The CDs have an alternative band and track listing written on them. The CD says the band is Dr. J. Joned and the Interns and the recording called Permanently Out. The band name (supposed to be Jones than Joned - the same typo as on Live Bootleg release) Aerosmith used in August 1978 when they undertook a short club tour before taking the Draw The Line Tour back out on the road again. Comments: Superb FM Broadcast in excellent stereo. Concert carries a good selection from Permanent Vacation and Pump. Interesting to see them open with the long time set closer, Train Kept A Rollin; plus start the encore set with One Way Street. The Hampton 1987 bonus tracks are from a Westwood One FM Broadcast. One Way Street listed as My Baby. The tracks from the Foxboro concert a few days later were part of the Walden Woods benefit concert that were broadcast on FM radio, These recordings were three months into their USA tour at the start of the Get A Grip World Tour. The CD likes to list the solos although it lists the solo before Last Child as Joe's when it is Brads. PURE GOLD .999 Format: Vinyl, 9 tracks, ~ 40 min Label: P&E RECORDS 001 Side 1: Take It Or Leave It #13/Bitches Brew (alternate version)/ Gut Bucket Blues/Riff And Roll Side 2: The Jig Is Up/Jailbait/Lightning Strikes/Joanie's Butterfly/ Cry Me A River Recorded: Criteria Studios, Miami, Florida, Summer 1982 and up to September, 1982. Comments: Out-takes from recording of 'Rock In A Hard Place' in Miami, The absence of Tyler during the some of the period is reflected by the number of tracks which are instrumental versions. A few have Tyler ad-libbing vocals. Gut Bucket Blues (instrumental) and Take It Or Leave It #13 eventually became Bolivian Ragamuffin. The alternate version of Bitches Brew is an instrumental. A version of Riff and Roll turned up on Pandora's Box but recorded at The Power Station, NYC in Sept. 81, a year earlier. The version of Joanie's Butterfly is an instrumental which is how Crespo intended it`to be until Tyler added lyrics from a dream he had. Jailbait, Cry Me A River and Lightning Strikes are also primitive versions of the final songs. RAG DOLLS Format: 2CDs, 14 tracks, ~ 75 min Label: TCC035 Disc 1: Toys In The Attic/Same Old Song And Dance/Dude (Looks Like A Lady)/ Big Ten Inch Record/Lightning Strikes/Rag Doll/Back In The Saddle/Last Child/ Draw The Line Disc 2: Rats In The Cellar/Dream On/Sweet Emotion/Walk This Way/ Train Kept A Rollin' Recorded at: Hampton Civic Center, Hampton City, VA, November 16, 1977. Comment: Excellent FM stereo from a Westwood One Broadcast which has been seen light of day on a number of releases, i.e. see Virginia Connection for further comments. The difference with this recording is that it is spread over 2CDs and likely to cost more than an equivalent one CD version. RATTLESNAKE SHAKE Format: Vinyl, tracks, ~55 min Label: AS 1974 and LXXXIV series #18, Ruthless Rhymes \251 Side 1: Make it/Somebody/Write Me/Dream On/One Way Street/Walkin' the Dog Side 2: Pandora's Box/Rattlesnake Shake/Train Kept a Rollin'/Mama Kin Recorded at: Counterpart Studios, New York, 1974 Comments: Very good stereo. The recording questions information detailed in the Pandora's Box booklet, which carries Walkin' The Dog and Rattlesnake Shake from this set, and says it is from 1971. It also details that it was broadcast live by WKRQ, Cincinnati and produced by Aerosmith.. The recording is probably late 73 as it carries Pandora's Box which wasn't recorded in the studio until December 1973/January 1974. It does bring into question whether this is recorded in studios at New York given there is an audience. Some reports quote it being done in Ohio, probably Cincinnati. Tyler also says on introducing Pandora's Box, "we'd like to play a boogie from our new album, entitled, Night in the Ruts" which was the title Get Your Wings initially went under. This version of the song carries different lyrics. Rare live version of Fleetwood Mac's 'Rattlesnake Shake', a forerunner of 'Rats in the Cellar'. Reissued as 'Rattlesnake Shake' LXXXIV No 18; on violet vinyl with approximately 100 numbered copies. To confuse issues further, the Ruthless Rhymes release seems to originate from Germany and carries the date 1971 which is hard to swallow since the session comprises of all the Aerosmith LP's tracks apart from Movin' Out and this was the first track the band apparently wrote. RIDING ON THE WIND Format: 2CD, 22 tracks, 121 min 27 sec (disc 1: 63:59, disc 2: 57:48) Label: TRANSATLANTIC RECORDS, IBR2405/2415, 1994 Disc 1: Eat The Rich/Young Lust/F.I.N.E./Love In An Elevator/Fever/ Draw The Line/What It Takes/Last Child/The Other Side/Cryin'/Boogie Man/ Shut Up And Dance Disc 2: Stop Messin' Around/Rag Doll/Janie's Got A Gun/ Dude (Looks Like A Lady)/Dream On/Walk This Way/Livin' On The Edge/ Sweet Emotion/Peter Gunn/Train Kept A Rollin'/Same Old Song And Dance/Red House Recorded at: Forest National Theatre, Brussels, Belgium, 31 October, 1993 except last 2 tracks on Disc 2 which is The Spectrum, Philadelphia, PA, January 19, 1990 (and not April 90 as stated). Comments: Excellent full recording of the Brussels concert which is just over a week into their European Leg of the Get A Grip tour (5th date). Surprising to see band open with Train (as per Mama Kins 1994) and the inclusion of One Way Street as the first of five encores. On the insert, Heart's Done Time is listed as My Girl and One Way Street as My Baby. Vinyl version (red vinyl?) in gatefold sleeve apparently has only 20 tracks. SKINS AND BONES Format: 2CD, 24 tracks, 110 min 58 sec (disc 1: 58:11 , disc 2: 52:46) Label: Backstage BKCD065/66 (1993) Disc 1: Eat The Rich/Young Lust/F.I.N.E./Love In An Elevator/Fever/ Draw The Line/What It Takes/Last Child/The Other Side/Cryin'/Boogie Man/ Shut Up And Dance Disc 2: Shut Up And Dance (Reprise)/Stop Messin' Around/Rag Doll/ Janie's Got A Gun/ Dude (Looks Like A Lady)/Dream On/Drum Solo/ Walk This Way/Livin' On The Edge/Sweet Emotion/Guitar Solo/Train Kept A Rollin' Recorded at: Detailed as being recorded live during European Leg of The Get A Grip 1993 World Tour. The concert is that at The Forest National Theatre, Brussels, Belgium on October 31st, 1993. Comments: Excellent raw stereo sound that says is from the Soundboard. Band of the first leg of their European Get A Grip Tour. On the insert, Livin' On The Edge is omitted and lists Perry Mason Theme which is the finale of Sweet Emotion guitar solo, i.e. Peter Gunn etc. SMOKIN' GUNS Format: CD, 13 tracks, 70 min 24 sec Label: Lobster Records, LOBSTER CD022 Disc: Toys In The Attic/Same Old Song And Dance/Dude (Looks Like A Lady)/ Big Ten Inch Record/Back In The Saddle/Last Child/Draw The Line/ Rats In The Cellar/ Dream On/Sweet Emotion/Walk This Way/ Train Kept A Rollin'/Lightning Strikes Recorded: Details as being Boston 81 but inclusion of Dude and Lightning Strikes proves this incorrect. It is Hampton Civic Center, Hampton City, VA, November 16, 1977. Comments: Excellent stereo from Westwood One FM Broadcast that catches the band one month into the Permanent Vacation Tour. Slight reordering of the tracks compared with similar releases plus Rag Doll is missing. SPIRIT OF BOSTON Format: Vinyl, 14 tracks, ?? min Label: VM 2637 Side 1: Intro/Mama Kin/S.O.S. (Too Bad)/Lick And A Promise/Big 10 Inch Record/ Dream On*/ Lord Of The Thighs* Side 2: Last Child/Walk This Way/Same Old Song And Dance/Train Kept A Rollin'/ Get The Lead Out/ Batman Theme/Toys In The Attic Recorded at : Budokan Hall , Tokyo, Japan on February 9, 1977 except * which was taken from the Budokan show on January 31, 1977. Comment: Very Good Stereo of the closing date of their first Japanese Tour on the global Rocks Tour. Recording captures the Psycho/Jaws theme that the band used as an intro in the late 70s.. Get The Lead Out and The Batman Theme appear as part of a Train Kept A Rollin' medley. STAMP Format: Vinyl, 9 tracks, ~45 min Label: Side 1: Mama Kin/Write Me A Letter/S.O.S.(Too Bad)/Lick And A Promise/ Big Ten Inch Record Side 2: Sweet Emotion/Rats In The Cellar/Dream On/Lord Of The Thighs Recorded at: Peoria, Illinois, July 15th, 1976 Comments: A rare, very good mono recording from early in their USA Rocks Tour.Titled so in respect to the Stamped cover. Apparently only 25 copies in circulation?? STONE COLD Format: Vinyl - 2LP, 20 tracks, ?? min Label: Pharting Pharaoh Records 13157 Side 1: Back in The Saddle/Rats in The Cellar/Big Ten Inch Record/ My Fist Your Face/Last Child Side 2: Three Mile Smile/Red House/Lord Of he Thighs/Mama Kin/Sweet Emotion Side 3: Guitar improvisation/Walk This Way/Let The Music Do The Talkin'/ Drum Solo/Toys In The Attic Side 4: Honky Tonk Woman/Dream On/Your Lover Needs Lovin'/Stone Cold Blues/ Train Kept A Rollin' Recorded at: Details as being San Francisco, January 24 1986 but suspect it is from Syracuse Fairgrounds, Syracuse, NY, August 25, 1986 (set list tends to confirm thistime frame as very similar to Foxboro concert on August 31, 1986). Comments: Good to Very Good Stereo recording at the end of their Done With Mirrors Tour that includes few tracks from that album and draws of majority of theset from Toys and Rocks.. Includes a rare early cover of The Rolling Stones' Honky Tonk Woman, STRUTTIN' MY STUFF Format: 2CD, 20 tracks, ~ 100 min Label: Kiss The Stone KTS 292/293 Disc 1: Young Lust/Rag Doll/What It Takes/Fever/Monkey On My Back/Amazing/ The Other Side/Cryin'/Shut Up And Dance/Drum Solo Disc 2: Walk On Down/Mama Kin/Janie's Got A Gun/Love In An Elevator/ Sweet Emotion/Dream On/Livin' On The Edge/Walk This Way Recorded at: Rock in Rio Concert, Apoteose Square, Rio De Janeiro, Brazil on January 21, 1994. Comment: Excellent stereo but there seems some editing of the inter track breaks. Eat The Rich was the opening number but not present on this recording. A number of Pump numbers were added for this, their first South American Tour on their World-wide Get A Grip tour. SWEET EMOTIONS Format: CD, 12 tracks, ?? min Label: Viva CCD 7520 Disc: Sweet Emotion/No More, No More/Same Old Song And Dance/ S.O.S.(Too Bad)/Somebody/Dream On/Write Me A Letter/Walk This Way/ Toys In the Attic//Train Kept A Rollin/Walkin' The Dog/Milk Cow Blues Recorded at Tracks 1-9, Shaeffer Music Festival, Central Park NY, August 29, 1975; Tracks 10-12, Michigan Palace, Detroit, April 14, 1974 Comment: Another CD featuring the excellent KBFH stereo broadcast from Central Park in 1975 except this one carries all the broadcasted tracks although maybe not in the order they were played. The segment of Detroit 1974 songs are the final 3 numbers of that show including Joe singing Milk Cow Blues. On the CD, S.O.S. is listed as Too Bad and Sweet Emotion made plural (as per CD title). TAKE ONE BITE Format: 2CD, tracks, 54:03 (Disc 1), 50:47(Disc 2) Label: AIR VOX AC-40001/02 Disc 1: Intro-Eat The Rich/Toys In The Attic/Rag Doll/Fever/Monkey On My Back/ Amazing/Mama Kin/Angel/Cryin'/Rats In The Cellar Disc 2: Stop Messin' Around/Walk On Down/Janie's Got A Gun/Love In An Elevator/ Dude (Looks Like A Lady)/Sweet Emotion/Drem On/Livin' On The Edge/ Walk This Way Recorded at: Sun-Plaza Hall, Yokohama, Japan on April 27, 1994. Comments: Very good audience recording of the first date of the Japanese leg of the Get A Grip tour, their first tour in this country since September, 1990. Not much different from other sets except the inclusion of Angel. Comments: Very good to excellent recording. Brad Whitford does not perform with the band for this concert. It is understood he returned to USA due to illness of his father. David Minehan (ex-Neighborhoods) stood in for Brad for at this concert . Brad had produced the 1st album by Boston power pop combo, Neighborhoods in 1989. The recording comes with the full Yeatsie Girls' You Suck at the start. Comments: Another CD containing the MTV Unplugged 1990 session together with the Walden Woods Benefit concert broadcast; both in excellent stereo. Hangman Jury listed as Love Comes Tumbling Down. CD titles with identical setlists as above are 'Dude' and one believed to be called Cryin' with the words Cryin' etched on the CD case. Comment: Excellent FM stereo thanks to a Radio 1 broadcast. Details as being a soundboard recording. Jimmy Page guests with band on Train and Walk This Way. Short set as Aerosmith was co-headliners on the day with Whitesnake being last on. UK Format: 2CD, 23 tracks , ?? min Label: A9008/A8911, 1990 Disc 1: Rats In The Cellar/Same Old Song And Dance/Big Ten Inch Record/ Monkey On My Back/Don't Get Mad, Get Even/Permanent Vacation/Mama Kin/ Hangman Jury/Dream On/Love In An Elevator /Dude (Looks Like A Lady)/ Walk This Way Disc 2: Young Lust/F.I.N.E./Monkey On My Back/Janie's Got A Gun/Rag Doll/ Voodoo Medicine Man/Love In An Elevator/Dude (Looks Like A Lady)/ Toys In The Attic/Dream On/ Train Kept A Rollin'/Walk This Way Recorded at: Disc 1; the Hammersmith Odeon, London, on November 15th, 1989; Disc 2 at Monsters of Rock Festival, Castle Donnington, England, August 18, 1990. Comments: Excellent stereo from Radio 1 FM Broadcasts. The Hammersmith concert was their second concerts in the UK for over 12 years since Reading 1977. This is thought to be an unedited version of the broadcast which has been chopped and edited on other similar releases (i.e. Up Close). On Donnington 1990, Jimmy Page guests with band on Train and Walk This Way. Short set as Aerosmith was co-headliners on the day with Whitesnake being last on. THE ULTIMATE KILLER SHOW Format: CD, 13 tracks, 56 min 55 sec Label: OH BOY OB-1-9069, 1991 Disc: Rats In The Cellar/I Wanna Know Why/Milk Cow Blues/Walk This Way/ Sight For Sore Eyes /Seasons Of Wither/Sweet Emotion/Lord Of The Thighs/ Kings & Queens/Chip Away The Stone/Get The Lead Out/Get It Up/ Draw The Line Recorded at: Tower Theater, Upper Darby, Philadelphia, PA, March 26, 1978 Comments: Excellent FM stereo from the USA Draw The Line Tour with much of the album being aired including Kings & Queens, which had been released in the last week as their new single. One of several recordings taken a week in March, 1978 (i.e. Boston, Chicago, Columbus). The remaining four tracks from the concert are on The Increasing Killer Show. UNWIRED Format: CD, 15 tracks, 62 min 29 sec Label: Octopus OCTO 090 Disc: Smokestack Lightning/Monkey On My Back/Seasons Of Wither/ Love Me Two Times/Dream On/Is Anybody Out There/Hangman Dury/ Shakedown City/No More, No More//Hangman Dury/Big Ten Inch Record/ Dream On/Train Kept A Rollin'/Walking The Dog/Toys In The Attic Recorded at: Tracks 1-9, details as being Acoustic session, in Kansas City, 1990; Tracks 10-15, listed as N.Y.C. 1991 where in fact MTV Unplugged at Ed Sullivan Studios, August 11, 1990. Comments: Generally excellent stereo although No More, No More not of the same quality. Details as being an Original Soundboard Recording. First session contains very rare acoustic versions and covers. This session was a rehearsal for their then forthcoming MTV Unplugged set and many of these numbers were played in the MTV Unplugged set but never broadcast. Prior to this being available on CD, sources detailed this session as being done at Oklahoma City, OK in 1990. Shakedown City listed as End Of The Line. Following this session is the six tracks from the MTV Unplugged broadcast. UP CLOSE Format: 2CD, 34 tracks, 157 min 54 sec (Disc 1: 79:00; Disc 2: 78:54) Label: BEECH MARTIN RECORDS BM065/2 Disc 1: Back In The Saddle/Big Ten Inch Record/Three Mile Smile/ Reefer Head Woman/Dream On/Lick And Promise/Walk This Way/Milk Cow Blues/ Rats In The Cellar/Toys In The Attic/Train Kept A Rollin'/Guitar Solo// Same Old Song And Dance/Draw The Line/Chip Away The Stone/Sweet Emotion// Dude (Looks Like A Lady)/Sheila Disc 2: Rats In The Cellar/Same Old Song And Dance/Permanent Vacation/Mama Kin/, Hangman Dury/Money On My Back/Don't Get Mad Get Even/Dream On/ Love In An Elevator/Dude(Looks Like A Lady)/Walk This Way/Chip Away The Stone '87 /Love Me Two Times '88 /Come Together '78 / Rag Doll/No Surprise Recorded at: Disc 1: Tracks 1-12, Stage West, Hartford, CT on June 12, 1980; Tracks 13-16, California Jam II, Ontario Speedway, Ontario, CA, March, 18, 1978; Tracks 17-18 Unreleased Studio versions 1987. Disc 2: Tracks 1-11, Hammersmith Odeon, London, on November 15th, 1989; Tracks 12-14, Live Studio Sessions; Tracks 15/16, US Festival, S. Bernardino, CA, 1988. Comments: Excellent collection of FM stereo broadcasts from 1978-1988 plus various studio and demo recordings. Disc 1: The Hartford concert is a KBFH FM broadcast which features Crespo on guitar during their A Rut In The Nights Tour. CD Lists the concert as being Hartford 78 and the track Reefer Head Woman as Desperate Woman Blues. Three of the Cal Jam II Numbers are available on the official California Jam II 2 album (Columbia 1978) but Sweet Emotion is previously unreleased. Of the unreleased studio sessions, the Sheila session is likely to be 1985. This CD disc has to be one of the longest ever with 79 minutes of music cramped on it. Disc 2: The London concert is listed incorrectly as 1990. There has been some reordering of the tracks from the original Radio 1 FM Broadcast with Big Ten Inch Record omitted. Chip Away The Stone recording is believed to be the studio recording from 1978 that appeared as a US single and latter appeared on Gems. Love Me Two Times, the Doors cover from 1988, can also be found on the Less Than Zero soundtrack from 1990. The Come Together 1978 recording is that they released as a US single and appeared on Greatest Hits. Very rare live recording of No Surprise from 1988. One of the only a few recordings to carry Fever in the set. May also go under the name of Live U.S.A. 1993. USA 1994 Format: CD, ?? tracks, ?? min Label: ARR83 Disc: Unknown Recorded: Comments: Get A Grip Tour VIRGINIA CONNECTION Format: CD, 14 tracks, 76 min 6 sec Label: Golden Stars RSCD 1141 (1991) Disc: Toys In The Attic/Same Old Song And Dance/Dude (Looks Like A Lady)/ Big Ten Inch Record/Lightning Strikes/Rag Doll/Back In The Saddle/Last Child/ Draw The Line/Rats In The Cellar/Dream On/Sweet Emotion/Walk This Way/ Train Kept A Rollin' Recorded at: Hampton Civic Center, Hampton City, VA, November 16, 1977. Comments: Excellent Westwood One FM stereo Broadcast. Taken exactly one month into the Permanent Vacation Tour. Unsure if the broadcast was edited as the set seems light by a few numbers and a vinyl source (Aerodynamics) has a recording of Bone To Bone apparently from this concert. VOODOO Format: CD, 14 tracks, ?? min Label: IC008/009 Disc : Same Old Song And Dance/F.I.N.E./Monkey On My Back/Permanent Vacation/ Janie's Got A Gun/Mama Kin/Voodoo Medicine Man/Red House/Rag Doll/ Draw The Line/Dream On/Love In An Elevator/Dude (Looks Like A Lady)/ Sweet Emotion/Walk This Way Recorded at: The Spectrum, Philadelphia, PA, January 19, 1990. Comments: The main theme of this compilation CD are the tracks performed on MTV Unplugged done acoustically in that broadcast and then live in concert between 1974-1990. It also features rare studio tracks (tracks 13-15) which are likely to have been lifted from Pandora's Box. Numbers in brackets are the year theyare detailed as being recorded in. Lists London tracks as 1990, Hartford as 1975 and Central Park as 1978. Tracks 10 and 18 at Donnington 1990 feature Jimmy Page on guitar. Tracks 16 and 17 are Guns and Roses in Paris, 1992 with special guests Tyler and Perry. The studio tracks are likely to be the versions on Pandora's Box. Comments: Excellent stereo of the infamous Woodstock 25 performance where co-headliners Aerosmith took the stage just before midnight. One of the few if not only recordings to carry the entire Woodstock set. Draw The Line includes F.I.N.E. Also another CD to carry the MTV Unplugged 1990 performance but strange it kicks off the release. WORLD ON THE EDGE Format: CD, ?? tracks, ?? min Label: Disc: Unknown Recorded: Comments: From the title, based on GAG shows somewhere YOUNG LUST Format: CD, 9 tracks, 46 min 34 sec Label: Living Legend Records LLRCD 084 Disc: No More, No More/Somebody/Dream On/Write Me/Walk This Way/ Train Kept A Rollin'/Toys In The Attic/Woman Of The World/Walkin' The Dog Recorded at: Tracks 1-7 states as June, 1975 but is Shaeffer Music Festival, Central Park NY, August 29, 1975. Tracks 8-9, My Father's Place, Long Island, New York, July 2, 1974 Comments: Compilation CD from the two New York concerts in 1974 and 1975. Excellent KBFH FM stereo for the Central Park broadcast and similar for the 1974 tracks. DATE - VENUE / TITLE CROSS REFERENCE ____________________________________ This section allows you to pick or lookup titles from a particular concert or from certain time period or tour. It becomes very noticeable that a majority of the titles revolve around about a dozen Aerosmith concerts mainly due to being excellent stereo broadcasts from the TV or radio and that there is virtually nothing between the years 1981-1985 when the band was less successful. Appended is a small section detailing titles that have guest appearances on them and when Tyler and Perry have guested with other bands. A '+' sign appended after a title details that this title does not contain the full set played on this concert date. The exception to this rule is for MTV Unplugged (1990) which is based on the numbers that were broadcast although the live set contained 15 numbers. ________________________________________________________________________________ 1973 Apr 23 Boston, MA Hot Popcorn 1974 ??? Connection TRACK AND DATE CROSS REFERENCE ______________________________ This section lists the tracks in alphabetical order and alongside details a date or range of dates. This section can be used to identify when tracks were in the Aerosmith set (if at all) and help guide you to which titles to look for the presence of these tracks by using the date as a key into the previous Date-Venue / Title Cross Reference. Note that the data compiled for this cross reference is based on and been generated for the titles listed in this document. Hence it is not an accurate reference that tracks were in the set for the full defined date range in case anyone attempts to use this data for other purposes. The track sections are broken down into categories and in some cases, rather than a date; a bootleg title is given and sometimes both.
