infrathin

The band is infrathin and the album is islands of sparing, yet the songs are all but sparse. I expected something ambient and quite experimental. Here we have a tinge of experiments riding on the back of a pop framework. The frame is a nice mix of digital sounds and acoustic fervor and the house it forms is nice, abstract, yet still rock solid. Their songs get you beyond the sounds and into their world and what it world it is. The artists know every corridor, every light switch, and change in level. When they turn on the lights in the pitch dark in the depths of the night, disco balls spin at their selfish speeds and the people are lost in colors and stories abound in a party of thoughtful and inspired drunks. Well that’s where it took me. This band is quite obviously very inspired and easily slides onto the compilation spot for November.
