Most often it is easier for me to list things I dislike rather than list things I do like. I would probably pick Salvador Dali to be my favorite painter, as I'm most fond of his works when compared to other painters. I hate Christian religious paitings (i.e., angels and last supper sort of deals) with a passion, but with an equal passion love Dali's religious paintings. His are the only of that type I would hang in my home.

In high school the man that made my jaw drop was Maxfield Parrish, due to his use of blue.

My favorite painting of all-time is by my mother. She doesn't like it because it is unfinished but it's been that way ever since I can remember. Perhaps it is because I was exposed so heavily to that piece as a child that I love it as more of a sentimental ornament. The colors are lovely and I believe it needs no further work. I am saddened now by memories of not handling it gently when it lived in the garage and will frame it when my mother passes on.

Man Ray and Justice Howard photos are always eye catching. In general I like darker images, not necessarily shot in black and white or even of an evil nature, but something which evokes the dark passions we all feel.
