Beck

Beck Hansen is definately not your ordinary performer. Back in 1994 on his major label(Geffen) debut, Mellow Gold, Beck threw himself in the spotlight by chanting, "I'm a loser, baby, so why don't you kill me?" This simplistic approach to pop music is what Beck fans all over the world have come to expect and admire. With his newest release, Odelay, Beck lets no one down with his lyrics on "Where it's At," reiterating time and time again the extent of his possessions, "I got two turn-tables and a microphone." Odelay was recorded in Los Angeles throughout 1995 and into early 1996 and was produced, for the most part, by Beck and the Dust Brothers(Beastie Boys, Biz Markie) at the Dust Brothers house in L.A., Beck took some time out from recording Odelay to play the Lollapalooza tour last summer with such notables as Sonic Youth, Hole, Elastica, and Cypress Hill. Additionally, Beck has toured the United States, Europe, Australia and Japan with a full band. And this year at the MTV Music Awards, Beck was honored with the Best Male Video award.
