Duran Duran

Foxwoods Theater -- 8/13/99

Duran Duran played to an admiring crowd at Foxwoods Theater on August 13, 1999. Fans were screaming for lead vocalist Simon Le Bon as if he were Elvis. Most people were on their feet and dancing early on in the show, after being egged-on by guitarist Warren Cuccurullo who shouted, "they were standing in Atlantic City!" Simon and Warren kept the audience rocking as they jumped, ran and danced across the stage. Original band member and keyboardist Nick Rhodes was sedate by comparison. The trio was joined on-stage by bassist Wes Wehmiller and drummer Joe Travers.

The guys pounded through most of their biggest hits of the eighties, including "Girls on Film", "Rio", "Hungry Like The Wolf", "Planet Earth", "Notorious", and "The Reflex". They played two slow numbers, "Come Undone" and "Ordinary World". Other songs included "White Lines" and "Electric Barbarella". We were also treated to a new song, "Pop Trash Movie" off their forthcoming album.
