Marilyn Manson in all their glory desended upon the people of Hartford on May 7. After an opening set from RASPUTINA, which had some pretty funny comments between songs, The Meadows went dark and out came MARILYN MANSON on the top of a staircase, arms upraised in front of a large churchlike backdrop to the strains of Angel With Scabbed Wings. Get Your Gun and Cake and Sodomy followed. Then into three more from the latest CD - Dried Up, Tied Up, and Dead To The World and then into the crowd pleaser Torniquet and a wild version of Kinderfeld when the good Reverend came out on what had to be 10 foot stilts with 15 foot arm pieces.

I had my Lunchbox and I was armed real well for the next song which was Minute Of Decay. The whole crowd seemed to sing along with the song Sweet Dreams, the snow effect looked very evil. Little Horn then blasted the place. I think the next song was Apple Of Sodom but my skull was starting to compress at this point. The reverend Marilyn then came out in a three piece suit with a bright red shirt in front of a pulpit. The backdrop was three large flags with the shock symbol, stunning visual effect. Reminded me of a scene in Pink Floyd's The Wall. Marilyn then freeley distributed parts of the good book, much to the crowds amusement. The anthem of the 90`s then followed - The Beautiful People.

Another incredible visual moment was the opening of the song Irresponsible Hate Anthem when Manson came out wearing an American flag like a beach towel in front of a stage-long American flag backdrop. It was just like the opening of the movie PATTON. The Reflecting God and Man That You Fear closed out the show.

It's great that the Meadows had this show, I didn't see any trouble from where I sat. Also I didn't see any satanic worship going on, in fact I`ve seen more of that stuff on C-SPAN. Remember white trash get down on your knees and pray for ..........
