On July 26, 1997, Magilla Guerilla performed their first show ever (hence the new name 7 twenty 6), and it was the hottest day of the year. An outside show, in 110 degree heat, was not the ideal conditions for the debut performance, yet we still all had a good time, and we thought that we should continue to play. This show debuted our first original song Ain't Coming home.
After performing the first show at the Blue Ribbon Days in Mt. Zion, Illinois, Magilla Guerilla decided to change its name because of problems with the cartoon character Magilla Guerilla (which would never be solved completely until almost 2 years later). The new was name was Numb, but 7 twenty 6 later found out that there was a band with that name already. Once again 7 twenty 6 had to find a new name and it became Liquid Numb. As Liquid Numb they performed at such bars as The Atrium, The Connection, RJ's and many others.
During the year and half that Liquid Numb played many bars they also began writing many songs. Then, in the summer of 1998, we all decided that it would be cool to record an album of all of our original material. At the time, though, we only had about 5 songs, and we wanted to have a full length album of at least 10 songs. So for the next few months, we were busy writing more new songs. See the discography for a description of each song that we wrote.
Then on January 9, 1999, we went to Pogo
studios in Champaign, IL to record our album. After 2 days of
recording, the instruments were complete, and vocals were left for most
of the songs. It wasn't until the end of March that we had finished
all the tracks and mixing all the songs. It took a little patience,
but the next task was to complete the CD booklet, and get the CD mastered
by Dave Davis. The CDs have been sent to Canada, eh, to Cdman
Disc Inc. The CDs should be available on May 14, 1999.
