About Me

Trifid Nebula

For the curious, here's a little background information on the guy you've probably been talking to. I'm a 47 year old electrician/musician/backyard astronomer and photgrapher. I love the outdoors and enjoy hiking and photographing nature...wild birds in particular. I live in a nice quiet little town with my wife Shirl. I thank her with all my heart for showing me the light of love again. A shout out to my sister Amy, and her family. I can't believe she FINALLY got online!

I was hired by Goodyear before I graduated high school to become an apprentice electrician. I had to wait until the September after graduation to start work 'cause I didn't turn 18 until August. Have a look at our class on the Goodyear Class of '76 homepage I put together. It's a pretty good place to work most of the time, but like all jobs, it can be frustrating. The thing I like best about it is the problem solving aspect of it. I just love to walk up to a machine that won't work and fix it...one of lifes little pleasures for me...weird eh? I also like the fact that we are increasingly able to work with all different types of computer systems and software which I would like to pursue as part time work in the future. So, the big plan is to work there for a few more months for a total of 30 years and then retire at age 48 to do the things in life that my job has kept me from pursuing...mainly exploring nature all over northern California with my best friend who also happens to be my wife.

As for my handle, Midnite Cruiser, I take that from a song off of Steely Dan's first album. They're one of the greatest bands of all time IMHO...the perfect mix of rock, jazz and R&B. Since I love the night and I love to cruise, Midnite Cruiser seemed like a natural for me.

UPDATE: Today, January 23rd, 2007, I retired from the Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company.
