Bulgaria Trip Diary
"Yummee... A Purple One!"
Day 4
At last I woke
up with something to do, even if it was at 5:30 in the morning! The last
time I played July Morning at 5:30 in the morning was…. Nah, you don´t want to
know!
Organisation
was a little lacking though… We drove to the general vicinity of the site
and had a bit of a problem finding a way to get to the stage. There were
thousands of people there!!!!
This had not
been planned but eventually John found a way. The pressing issue was to
start the intro of July Morning exactly as the sun came up over the watery
horizon of the Black Sea.
BTR played
some tunes, John did one song with them and as the sun came up he introduced me
and I started July Morning. The crowd went totally bonkers and this was
actually quite an emotional moment. Hard to describe really.
We played 5 or
6 more songs and then spent the best part of 2 hours signing things and posing
for pictures. A very interesting experience and one I will remember for a
long time, along with the early 20th century Russian generator that powered us
through this thing!
The rest of
the day was spent eating, resting and just hanging out. We are having a
barbecue with the mayor tonight…….
This day
feels so much like a Sunday to me ….
