"Into The Great Unknown"

"The 'Book of Songs' tour goes to Russia"

Day 2 (continued)

I don´t think I slept more than about 4 hours but I had a lot to do so I washed yesterday off and got ready.

I had the piano in my room so I was able to practise and then we left for the press conference which was fun and where I received a lot of gifts, including two really cool oil paintings which are so good I want to take them home and put them in the studio or somewhere.

I was also inducted into the official Ural Beatles Club which was cool and after the press conference we left for lunch and a quick but fascinating visit to the Cathedral.

This building was completed in 2006 and was built on the exact site of where the last Tsar of Russia was murdered by the Bolsheviks, along with his entire family and others who were close to him and considered a threat to absolute rule.

Disgusting.

And most people now see it that way so the family is revered and many monuments and tributes to the family are enshrined in the cathedral.

The people here were very kind and very helpful and I really enjoyed my day off and I especially enjoyed the great dinner we had which was organised by Vladimir Solovarov who answered all of my curiosity questions patiently and completely. I learned a lot and felt more and more comfortable in this city.

But now it was time to catch up on lost sleep…..
