Cos'e' Vibesonline.net Vibesonline.net e' un sito web che si occupa di musica e cultura positiva, che fanno vibrare lo spirito e muovere il corpo in maniera vitale. Vibesonline.net si occupa in particolare di musica reggae. Il reggae non e' semplicemente un genere musicale: nella sua complessa varieta' di forme e linguaggi evolutisi in 40 anni di storia, rappresenta una vera e propria controcultura portatrice di istanze rivoluzionarie, sociali e spirituali, che dal terzo mondo hanno raggiunto i media multinazionali grazie all'incredibile forza della musica. La storia dell'impatto di questa cultura popolare con i mass media e' una storia spesso fatta di ingiustizie, incomprensioni, mistificazioni, ignoranza. A questo gap nella comunicazione, fa da contrasto l'attivita' di chi in tutto il mondo cerca di vivere, esprimere, diffondere le potenzialita' specifiche del reggae. Il circuito internazionale del reggae e' fatto non solo di professionisti, ma anche e sopratutto di semplici appassionati e volontari che trovano nel reggae un senso profondo che va oltre il business: un linguaggio, una strada di vita, una visione... Vibesonline.net in Italia e' un piccolo anello di questa comunita' internazionale. Il suo scopo e' quello di colmare il vuoto di comunicazione intorno al reggae, parlando di quelle che riteniamo gli aspetti piu' vitali e autentici di questa musica: sound systems, etichette indipendenti, artisti, spiritualita', realta' sociale. La nostra intenzione e' lavorare nell'informazione musicale in maniera onesta, indipendente, competente e appassionata. Vibesonline.net tratta la musica con amore. Storia di Vibesonline.net Le origini di Vibesonline.net risalgono ai primi anni '80, quando Mimmo produceva le prime reggae fanzine in Italia: Rebel Soul e I-tal Reggae. La fanzine VIBES nasce nel 1991, ispirata dalla fanzine inglese "Boom Shaka Laka" che parlava con entusiasmo di una nuova stagione roots nel reggae inglese e giamaicano. Contemporaneamente in Italia nasceva una nuova scena musicale giovanile intorno al reggae ed all'hip hop, e si gettavano le basi dei primi sound systems locali. In questo contesto e con queste motivazioni Vibes ha pubblicato 7 numeri completamente autoprodotti ed autodistribuiti da Mimmo e Pier. Nel 1996 VIBES ha avviato il suo sito web, la prima esperienza reggae su Internet in Italia. Nel 1999 viene registrato il nome di dominio Vibesonline.net. Chi e' Vibesonline.net Vibesonline.net e' diretta da Mimmo Pizzutilo e Pier Tosi. Entrambi collaborano occasionalmente con varie riviste musicali ed offrono consulenze editoriali sul reggae ad etichette e promoters. Mimmo "Superbass" Pizzutilo e' un graphic designer specializzato nel settore musicale con la sigla VIBRAZIONI VISIVE, ed e' impegnato nel sound system italiano I&I PROJECT come Dj silecta e promoter. What's Vibesonline.net Vibesonline.net is a website about positive culture and vital music for the spiritual and physical enjoyment. This site is mainly about reggae music. Reggae is not just a musical genre: with his historical evolution during the last 40 years, reggae is representing a sort of revolutionary culture carrying on a social and spiritual message of revolution and world peace and equality and spreading this message from the third world and the caribbean to the whole world without any race distinction. Worldwide mass media are telling very often to the people the wrong side of reggae culture, a side built by the media themselves and generating misunderstanding and ignorance about it. This 'official' communication gap is in contrast with genuine people from all over the world, trying to live, express and spread the revolutionary potential of reggae music. The reggae worldwide scene is not just the business side done by true professionals, but an endlessly cultural exchange between bonafide music lovers trying to give to reggae a deep meaning of a vision, a love language, a way of life with love... Vibesonline.net is a little ring in this worldwide chain and is operating from Italy. His goal is to tell the people about the true side of reggae music getting informations about the sound system scene, small independent reggae labels, unknown artists, reggae spirituality and reality. Our intention is to work on this project with honesty, independence and in a passionate way. Vibesonline.net is dealing with love in music. Vibesonline.net history Vibesonline.net's history started at the beginning of the '80s, when Mimmo did produce the first italian reggae fanzines by the names of Rebel Soul and I-tal Reggae. The VIBES fanzine did start on 1991 clearly inspired by the Bell-Brown brothers' 'Boom Shaka Laka' experience from UK. On the same time in Italy a new musical scene was gettin' on spontaneously around reggae and hip hop, putting the foundations of the italian sound system scene. In this environment Vibes released seven fanzine issues completely autoproduced and distributed by Mimmo and Pier. On 1996 Vibes started an online internet section which was the first internet project about reggae in Italy. In 1999 the Vibesonline.net domain was registered for the first time. Who's Vibesonline.net Vibesonline.net is directed by Mimmo Pizzutilo and Pier Tosi: both are collaborating occasionally with italian magazines and with reggae labels or promoters. Mimmo "Superbass" is a graphic designer specialized on music (record covers, posters...) with his VIBRAZIONI VISIVE (visual vibes) firm, and is part of the I&I PROJECT sound system crew as record selector and promoter. He's in reggae from early 80s, being the guitarist of DIFFERENT STYLEE, one of the earliest italian reggae bands, splitted in 1990.
