"Everlong" in Heavy MTV Rotation

David Grohl, Nate Mendel, Taylor Hawkins and Franz Stahl -- the artists collectively known as Foo Fighters -- will embark on a headlining tour of North America beginning September 18th at Las Vegas' Huntridge Theater.

In addition to approximately eight weeks of headline dates, the Foos will open a pair of shows each for Rage Against The Machine (Sept. 19 at Irvine Meadows in Irvine, Calif. and Sept. 21 at Blockbuster Amphitheater in Phoenix, Az.) and the Rolling Stones (October 16 and 17 at Giants Stadium -- you'd better know where that is tough guy). These dates will be the first full Foos sets to feature new guitarist Franz Stahl. Stahl recently and amicably replaced Pat Smear live on the MTV Video Music Awards "Opening Act" special. His musical relationship with Dave Grohl goes back to the mid-80's when the two played together in the groundbreaking Washington DC hardcore band Scream.

When pressed for comment on his hasty assimilation into the Foo fold, Stahl commented, "Whew."

Atlantic Records act Talk Show will join the Foo Fighters' tour beginning Sept. 30 at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tn. They are a new band comprised of 3/4 Stone Temple Pilots that is "not affiliated" with Stone Temple Pilots. Go figure. Talk Show will not appear on the Rage and Stones dates.

As previously reported, The Colour & The Shape continues to spit into the glassy eye of the ailing music industry. Having consistently increased in sales over the last month, The Colour... jumps form 61 to 53 on the coming week's Billboard Top 200. The Video for the record's current single, "Everlong" continues to enjoy heavy rotation on the Music Television playlist. Yes.
