The answers were basically split in half. Many people thought that Liam is the center of Oasis and without his vocals they couldn't go on. Others thought that Oasis would do fine and even better if Liam left the group.

Here's what I have to say...YOU'RE CRAZY IF YOU THINK LIAM SHOULDN'T BE IN OASIS!!! Oasis is Oasis, and without Liam's amazing and original voice, Oasis just wouldn't be Oasis!!! Not that I have anything against Noel, but could you even TRY to imagine how lame Live Forever or Supersonic would sound (vocally, anyway) without Our Kid??? Some songs Noel maybe suited for (i.e. DLBIA) but most Oasis songs just suit Liam soooooo perfectly (like recent D'you know what I mean), that it would sound so weird coming from Noel!!! Think about it, if Liam quit, got sacked, whatever, Oasis would probably lose like, half their fan base just BECAUSE of Liam's voice!!! It just wouldn't make sense!!!

Liam does have a pretty original voice, but he's not really the core of the group. He doesn't play the guitar, he pretty much just sits there and sings. In the video for "D'You Know What I Mean," he has his hands in his pockets while he sings. .occasionally playing the tamborine. Noel on the other hand writes all the songs, plays the guitar and sings backup vocals. If you've seen the MTV unplugged with Oasis on it, you can see that Noel does an incredible job with the songs. . . he sings the songs exactly like he had wanted them to sound when he wrote them. My favorite Oasis song, Masterplan, is one of the few songs actually sung by Noel on a CD (and his voice is nothing to laugh at). I'm sure that Oasis could survive without Liam. However, I must give credit where it's due. Liam has done an incredible job on the first two CD's. His voice is nothing short of amazing, but I do think that the group could function perfectly fine without him. If Noel were gone on the other hand, it would be over for Oasis. . no original lyrics/songs.. .nothing..the end of Oasis as we know it. It's not that I don't like Liam, it's just that he's by far, not the most talented Gallagher brother.

They would do better without that bland singer. Noel's voice is more harmonic and can do the material better. Noel wrote all the songs, and the only reason Liam is in the group is because is older brother did him a favor.
