The lovely folks at Personal SEEK sent me mail saying that because of my page's "originality, content and general interest", my page was selected by them out of some 10,000 pages they visited. Okay, so 4,000 other pages were selected too, so I guess it's more like getting junk mail. At least it's some sort of recognition. Well, okay, somebody saw my page (they had to, didn't they?) and sent me .
Then there was Stephanie, a reporter from USA Today, who was going to do a story on my page. Actually, she was going to do the story about boredom on the job, saw my page, and wanted to include me. Well, I wasn't bored at the time, and she wanted too much personal information that would make me too easily recognizable to my co-workers (boss), so I didn't do it. I do like my job, you know. I'd like to keep it.
Then there was a real award, I was in the PowWow Top Ten Home Pages the week of May 30, 2000. I placed third. Okay, so there were only three entries. I still was in it.
