"Letting Go Of Holding On"

It happened so quickly
The love you gave was gone
I never even noticed
That anything was wrong
One day you were with me
The next you went away
Now all I have are the pictures
Broken dreams of yesterday

I wish I could remember
The sweet smell of your hair
I long to hold you in my arms
In our big comfy chair
My heart is slowly mending
As I fumble through my life
I try to smile for my friends
And heed their good advice

They say....
Stop holding on
Start living again
Get back in the game
It's not the end

So I'm...letting go of holding on
I'll face the storm and try to be strong
Take the chances, even if they're wrong
Now I'm letting go of holding on...

The days keep passing
Even though they are slow
The calendar keeps moving
And the flowers still do grow
I have learned to laugh,
Found my smile again
Though my heart still hurts,
It is on the mend

I'm letting go of holding on
I'll face the storm and try to be strong
I'll take my chances, even if they're wrong
Now I'm letting go of holding on

Those friends were right
Guess I should have known
They stood by my side
And I was never alone
For friends stay beside you
While lovers do depart
I'll take comfort in their love
And make a brand new start

For I'm letting go of holding on
Facing the storm and trying to be strong
Taking my chances, even if they're wrong
I'm finally letting go of holding on....
