"Once Upon A Life"

Once upon a life
There was a woman lost
She knew not where to turn
And the roads ahead were crossed
A life she'd once held close
Now seemed so far away
Her happiness had faded
And she didn't want to stay

Once upon a life
There was a man alone
He turned around one day
And lost the life he'd known
A life he'd once held close
Now seemed so far away
His happiness had left
Said she didn't want to stay

Once upon a life
The man and woman met
Many secrets they shared
And endless hours they spent
A bond grew between them
The kind that lasts forever
An undying affection
They swore no one could sever

But once upon a life
Things sometimes go amiss
Sweet affection turns to love
A simple hug becomes a kiss
And so a romance grew between them
The kind you read about in books
With beating hearts, warm embraces
Breathless words, and loving looks

Once upon a life
The man and woman loved
They held a moment of happiness
Then uncaged it like a dove
For time will heal all wounds
And stories must come to a close
Now the man walks into a new life
The woman, to the one she knows

And once upon a life
In the corners of our minds
We seek to ease our pain
In the passages of time
Or by looking to another
To fill our empty hearts
To hold us close, away from hurt
Protecting us from harm

Once upon a life
There was a woman lost
One man helped her find herself
Now her heart must pay the cost
Once upon a life
There was a man alone
One woman helped him find himself
He would cherish the love she'd shown

And as they fade into the sun
That undying affection still goes on
For once upon a life they loved
But now the chapter has ended...
The story is done.
