Holly wanted some dating advice from Vic, Here is her question:
Q: I have this boy in my class who I think likes me but he is always mean to me when he's around his friends. My friend told me that he told her that he likes me, but he's shy whenever we're alone. Should I tell him that I like him or will he make fun of me?
A: Well, honey, this is a problem that everyone must contend with at one time or another. If he's mean to you when his friends are around, but shy when you two are alone, I'd say that he likes you. Sometimes guys are mean to girls when they are in front of their friends because they don't want to appear un-cool in front of them. It may be a little immature, but most guys go through this. My advice to you is- Have fun with the situation!!! When he's mean to you, be twice as mean right back... and flirt with his friends, that'll bring him out of his shell !!!

Q:yo fool, these homies be kickin it on da west side while us boyz have been trippin over on da east side, what do i do bout this G, i got
my ak 47 right here and i blow those homies back to oz, i ain't be knowin if i should be doin that though, what you think boy???
A: What I think is you better never call ol' Vic a boy again, or I'm liable to kick a hole in your gangsta ass! But I recognize your problem, I got homies trippin' around me all the time, and I try not to let it bother me... so I say don't play that game, try to be cool, and just chill. If you try all of this and nothing seems to work, and whatever public assistance you are on doesn't cover psychiatric help, just go pop a cap in his ass!!!!
Link asked Vic:
Q: There is this girl that goes to my school that I like. I talk to her on the phone all the time, but I can't ask her out. What should I do????
A: If this is because of a fear of rejection, all that I can say is that the worst thing that has ever happened in the history of dating is that the girl says no. You don't burst into flames, you aren't attacked by locusts, and the Earth keeps on spinning. If you feel unsure of how you would deal with the rejection, think about how you feel every time you see her, not knowing if she returns your feelings... Can the feeling you would get should she say no even compare to the daily anxiety you're going through right now? Once you make this distinction, and actually look at the stress levels that are mounting as a result of you keeping this to yourself, you'll see that there's no comparison. Even if she does say no, it saves you from wondering and waiting, because if you talk to her on the phone and see her in class, you obviously have some sort of friendship and she pretty much knows what you're like. Hate to be blunt here, but if she doesn't return your feelings now, she probably never will, and isn't it better to find out sooner rather than later? On the other hand, she says yes and you're in!! You have taken the initiative and gotten what you wanted! Though admittedly, the first scenario is not pleasurable like the second one, IT IS STILL BETTER THAN NOT KNOWING!!!! Another thing to think about: Even if this girl likes you, she's not going to wait forever for you to step up and speak your mind. How would you feel if she got snapped up by some other guy because she thought you guys were just going to be friends? Take the first step! It doesn't have to be a big production, just casually ask her if she wants to go grab a drink or see a movie or whatever you decide on. Good luck and write back and let me know how it all pans out!
Lucky aksed Vic:
Q:My brother is a total computer geek. He isn't interested in anything but surfing the web. What can I do about this? Please print this I want him to see it.
A: Well Lucky, I don't know that you can do anything about it. Is he normal otherwise? How much time does he spend on the computer each day, on average? Your ol' buddy Vic spends a LOT of time on the computer, so maybe you're asking the wrong person.....
Homer wanted to know:
Q: I need to know if horoscopes are real!! Should I take their advice or not?
A: Homer, let me just tell you that there is no guiding force more productive for your life than your own judgement! When you read the little disclaimer that says horoscopes are for entertainment purposes only, believe it!!! My opinion of horoscopes is that most of them are so vague, that they can be turned and twisted into whatever meaning you want to give them, so if they just affirm your beliefs and make you feel better, then that's great. However, if you read a horoscope that said you should jump off of a cliff today, and you followed that advice, you probably deserve whatever the outcome of the situation is!
Clarence wondered:
Q: This shit is pissing me off Vic! Give Me a Hennesee and Coke! Fucking I give the sixers my all, I stick withthem as we lose game affter game and now they trade me for some white guy who is always fucking hurt. Not only that but they send me to fucking Boston who will probably suck more then the sixers next year. To top that off I got to play for Pitino who is going to try that college shit with us Pro millionares. What should I do? Getting drunk seems to be my choice!
A: Well, Clarence, as I am writing this, I see that the trade has been voided and you will not be going to Boston after all!! But hang onto that Hennesee and Coke, as a matter of fact, I'll make it a double, as the Sixers are bound to give you PLENTY of reason to drink this season, if you're not dealt somewhere else, that is.....
Digger Asked:
Q: What can you tell me to keep me from strangling my mother-in-law? She's been living with us for two months and I can't take it anymore!
A: I suggest you have an affair just to have somewhere else to sleep when the tension gets too high!!! (JUST KIDDING!!!) Have you calmly, rationally, discussed this with your husband/wife? Most of the time, you wish to respect your partners feelings, and do not mention your reservations until in the heat of an argument, which is the worst time to attempt to solve a problem! You need to go to your partner when you are not angry and calmly discuss the issue. I do not recommend confrontation with the mother-in-law until you have done this, and preferably any discussions with her should be conducted by both of you.
