Also, as news on the FLC can get pretty scarce at times, i started up a FLC/ICQ group so we can help each other out with anything ya might need to know. 24/Apr/'99 - Okay, just a quick 'ne, but in a Daily Irish newspaper there was a report that Huey's apparently been gettin' it on with Andrea from the Corrs!!! Though, this paper isn't well known for it's honesty, and with a headline like: "Andrea Falls For Fun Lovin' Corr-iminal", it sounds like a lotta crap to me, but hey, it's FLC in the news, and it did get the top of the front page, so....

'Pop star Andrea Corr is head over heels in love with Fun Lovin' Criminals frontman Huey. The pair finally hit it off at the Fun Lovin' Criminals concert in Belfast after he dedicated a song to her. Andrea has spent almost every moment of free time with the controversial (?!?!?) singer, making the most of a month break from the Corrs. Fans were amazed when Huey dedicated Louis Armstrong's Wonderful World to Andrea at the Waterfront Hall, in Belfast, on Monday. "He's given her loads of flowers, taken her out for romantic meals, basically they've gone everywhere and done everything together". Their blossoming relationship will end pop wild child Robbie William's efforts to woo Andrea. While Huey is now touring with the band in England, Andrea is believed to be ringing him every day.'

06/Apr/'99 - (Source: NME) Fun Lovin' Criminals are to open their own restaurant in London - because they can't find anywhere nice to eat in the UK. A band spokesperson said: "They're opening their own restaurant to solve the problem," he explained. "Besides, Huey's always claimed he's quite a good cook, especially with Puerto Rican and Italian food skills he's got from his mother. So it will probably be that kind of food." They are currently looking for premises in London's Convent Garden for their enterprise, which will be called Difontaine's and they hope to open their new venture this time next year.

Meanwhile, Huey has also been asked to write a film by a major Hollywood company. The plot, according to Huey, is like "Ghost meets Back To The Future" and 3 major film studios are said to be interested. Huey is also making a break into acting and plays a Puerto Rican drug dealer in Once In The Life in the directorial debut by Hollywood star Laurence Fishbourne. The film is due later this year.

27/Mar/'99 - Fun Lovin' Criminals have teamed up with garbage on their new single 'Korean Bodega' released on April 19 through Chrysalis. Shirley Manson sings on a remix of the track which is the 3rd single from last year's 100% Colombian album. Also, FLC have parted company with drummer Steve Borovini for the forseeable future after he injured his hand on tour last year. He's replaced by new member Mackie who has played with New York hardcore outfits Cro-Mags, Bad Brains and Shelter.

09/Feb/'99 - There's trouble in the FLC camp, as reported in this weeks issue of Melody Maker, here's the story:

"Fun Lovin' Criminals have had a major bust-up with Underworld - over Republica's Saffron.Reports comining back from Australia say that Underworld's Karl Hyde was on the receiving end of some Criminal type abuse as a long-simmering feud exploded into violence. Fun Lovin' Criminals have accused Hyde, an ex-beau of Saffron's, of saying some "really, really nasty things about her" in the press. Saffron is now, famously, seeing the Criminal's bassist Fast, who has taken the alleged insults personally."

"Huey claimed to have recently been arrested in New York while defending a young woman. He said last week in Australia: "I got pinched for battery a while ago, but that was 'cos some guy hit his girlfriend, so I hit him. It got dropped, though. Punk. I was in a nightclub in New York and some guy whacked this girl, so I was like, 'Hey, why don't you try whacking us?' He was like, 'You should stay out of this, it's none of your business.' Don't mess with the ladies."

29/Jan/'99 - Well, finally i've woken up to the new year, and i'm finally getting round to updating the page again! Well, most exciting at the moment, is the FLC's recent stream of gigs around Europe again, due to popular demand. I haven't got the dates at the moment, they're not even up on the official page yet, but i'm sure if you look around this time you should find something somewhere. What I DO know, is that the FLC are comin' to Ireland in April, and they'll be playing 4 nights here in Ireland, 3 in Dublin's Olympia (April 16,17,18), and a rumored (and quite likely) 4th one in Belfast. For those of you that were asking, I'M GOING ON THE 16TH WITH ALL MY FRIENDS!!! I can't wait, should be good, and anyone else who's going to see the FLC anywhere soon, goodluck! And those of you that aren't, make sure you do go, at all costs!!

20/Nov/'98 - Okay, here's the latest news, and about time too!Just added a new bit to the tabs section,FLC bass tabs! It's almost all the funky, cool stuff that Fast does! But they're not by me,the credit goes to Vixxen and Appleseed(cool members of the mailing list) for figuring 'em out. You'll find all of these tabs at the normal place.I've also found out, from another cool list member called Alex, that rumor has it that Huey is to make his acting debut!!!It's gonna be in Laurence Fishburne's directing debut and Huey is supposedly going to be playing a drug dealer, kinda fitting really.I've absolutely no other news on this at the moment. Also, regards the 'Streetwise' compilation album mentioned below, the song which the FLC contributed was a remixed version of 'Love Unlimited'.Television-wise,the FLC recently appeared at the MTV European Music Awards to present an award,at have also recorded a Christmas special of the UK music quiz show,'Never Mind The Buzzcocks.'

!!!!!!!!!!!!!

09/Nov/'98 - Well,it's official now,the FLC have finally come out and admitted that the best place they've ever been to is Ireland and that the best gigs they've ever done were when they played at the Olympia in Dublin for two months last November.I also found out that the FLC have contributed to a compilation album called 'Streetwise' in aid of the 'HOUSE OUR YOUTH 2000' campaign to end homelessness in the UK for the Millennium. It should be out right now but I don't know wether the FLC have recorded a special track or just donated one of the old ones. For more information go to the HOY200 homepage.

01/Nov/'98 - Once again, and probably for the last time now,Huey appeared over here on U.K television on Friday the 30th on the great music show: Jools Holland. They played Korean Bodega,Up On The Hill and Mini-bar Blues with Jools(famous for being absolutely amazing on the piano) playing B.B Kings parts on the piano.By the end of the show Jools was refering to them as 'The fabulous Fun Lovin' Criminals' and 'my great new friends the Fun Lovin' Criminals'.Another amazing thing I ,and Jools Holland also pointed out, noticed was that Fast, while already playing two keyboards, played the bass with his feet, however he did it.It was fantastic, shame I didn't get to tape though 'cos my recorder's bust.Anyway,Huey sat down to chat with Jools for a while and again I managed to get most of it down.Click Here to read about it.
