I was looking at my watch constantly, waiting for 7:45. As soon as I looked
away the crowd started in. I looked up and there they were! I noticed quite
a few Oasis fans...people with British flags. I was the only one that I could
see standing in my section, which was about 15 rows from the front on the left
side of the stage. The band played for just over an hour ( should've been all
night, cause U2 was not worth the money I paid!) and played 12 songs, two new.
Here's the list as well as I can remember it:
Aquiesce
Supersonic
Morning Glory (Electric! Sounded incredible!)
Roll With It (Lots of hopping from the crowd)
D'You Know What I Mean (Can't wait for the single!)
Some Might Say (more hopping)
Cast Know Shadow (also electric)
Wonderwall (I guess Noel didn't feel like bringing along an acoustic guitar)
Be Here Now (amazing song!)
Don't Look Back In Anger
Live Forever
Champagne Supernova
The whole crowd didn't get into the set until Live Forever, which was a shame,
because they sounded great! No on stage arguing. Noel and Liam actually
seemed polite! I was expecting some American bashing, but didn't hear that
much. Noel chimed in with his impression of a "Texas" accent once and that
was about it. All of the oasis fans seemed to be in my area, up front. All
of us were singing along. It was great. I think the band liked the fact that
we were really into the set. Every now and again I would look behind me and
see the Colisieum filling up. By the time Wonderwall rang out, people were
starting to fill the seats. Still the show didn't even sell half of the
60,000 seats available. I was nervous that the show was going to be
cancelled! I didn't mind the lack of a giant crowd, it made the Oasis
experience more intimate.
I can't wait for them to headline some dates here
soon! I hope Oasis finally realize that yes, there are some "Yanks" (as we've
been called, by Noel) that do GET IT!
