Los Smashing Pumpkins son una banda estadounidense que proviene de Chicago (estado de Illinois).
Sus integrantes son Billy Corgan (voz, guitarras), James Iha (guitarras), D'arcy (bajo) y Jimmy Chamberlin (batería). Este último estuvo alejado de la banda desde fines del '96 hasta principios del '99, debido a su adicción a la heroína. Luego de un proceso de rehabilitación la banda aceptó su retorno.

I took a pumpkin and when I'd taken out all the seeds, I cut up all the nice orangey flesh. This went into a saucepan with some water and bubbled away gently for about quarter of an hour. I checked to see that it was soft, and when I thought it was about right I mashed it up with a potato masher until all the lumps had disappeared, sloshed in the milk and put it back on the stove. While this was cooking I rinsed the pumpkin seeds well and then spread them out on a baking tray. I wanted to toast them gently in the oven. After about another five minutes or so I trickled in the the honey to give it a nice flavour and added some salt and pepper. By this time too the seeds were all crispy and brown and smelled delicious. Everything was ready for my guests who particularly enjoyed eating the creamy soup because I sprinkled it with the golden pumpkin seeds, and gave them some crusty French bread to mop it up with.
