BAND HISTORY:

The porch to this melancholic kingdom of sadness and grief, was opened in July'92 by vocalist Tear and drummer Flame, at the time under the designation of INCARNATED.

The first piece of dramatic art was recorded in October'93, being the promo-track "Death Blessed By A God", which was sent to the main underground press and specialized labels, in a total of 400 free copies. The reactions to this debut release were extremely positive and heartening. Meanwhile, around the middle of '94, a change of the band's name was definitely necessary... DESIRE was born...

Due to the growing interest of some worldwide labels in the band's sound, in March'95 an "Advance Tape" featuring two new songs, was recorded, with the intent to find a record deal. Late '95, after studding some deal offers, the Portuguese label Skyfall Records was the chosen one to release Desire's dramatic concept album "Infinity... A Timeless Journey Through An Emotional Dream", which only happened in July'96. The album contains seven epic chapters of deeply sad emotions and depressive feelings combined with sorrowful orchestral atmospheres. "Infinity..." was considered by national and international specialized press as one of the best releases of that year, and the first one appearing in Portugal introducing such a mournful, melodic and misanthropic sound genre.
At this time the band's line-up was:

Tear (vocals)
Mist (electric & acoustic guitars)
Dawn (piano & keyboard effects)
Flame (drums & percussion)

After the successful live presentations promoting the album, in March'97, Desire enters the studio to record the second 'effort, the Mini-CD "Pentacrow", which represents the band's fifth year of painful existence. In this work are gathered some of the most important steps in the band's career, containing over 45 minutes of tragic melancholic and depressive musical landscapes. "Pentacrow" reinforces even more the doomiest and poetic side of Desire, already been considered one of the most successful releases of the Portuguese Metal field in '98.

In the beginning of '98 Dawn has left the band due professional matters. Meanwhile around middle '98, two new members joined DESIRE hordes, being ex-members from Winter Whispers, respectively taking care of keyboards and bass guitar. Also guitarist Eclipse left the band in middle '98, since he didn't felt identified anymore with the musical direction of the band.

Presently (fall'98), Desire is preparing its next work, where the search of a new label becomes absolutely necessary, since the deal with Skyfall Records was rescinded.
