Death Line Broke Up???: Due to lack of time, Death Line is currently "on hold".
Whether or not this resting time is permanent is yet unknown...
26/2/00 -
Name Change ?: After countless considerations, the band considered Avatar
to be the best choice for a new name. However, no final decision was made so far.

Mario in the Army: Unfortunately, due to that mandatory military service system
that exists in Portugal, Death Line's drummer had to shave his head, and will be doing
his military service for the next four months. However, Mario will still be able to
rehearse with the band on weekends, and even perform on an occasional concert.
22/9/99 -
Keyboardist: That's right, Death Line will probably add a keyboard player to the
line up. The band already has an eye on someone, the man in question is named Pedro
Silva (yes, another one)...

Gig in Paços de Ferreira: On Saturday, August 7th, Death Line performed
their second concert in the Graal Bar in the village of Lamoso (near Paços de
Ferreira)! The band started as usual with "Victims", followed by "With Some Life In",
"Sounds Whispering In My Head" and ended the first part with Metallica's "For Whom The
Bell Tolls". There weren't many people at the Graal in this first part, and it was only
at the second part of the gig that the crowd began to gather. Death Line then began the
second part with the ballad "Immortal Land", followed by "The Realms Of Lunacy" and
finished with a Metallica medley (consisting mainly of parts of "Am I Evil?" and "Master
Of Puppets")... At this point there was a lot more audience, and they were giving a
pretty good response. After a small performance by a couple of friends (which played
"Seek And Destroy" and "Whiskey In A Jar"), by demand of the audience, Death Line played
the first part once again (from "Victims" to "For Whom The Bell Tolls") as most people
missed the beginning of the show. In this final part the crowd was really rocking, and
there was even the usual moshing!!!... Latter in that night at the Graal bar there was
also an guitarist that was showing his stuff, and a killer drum solo by Mario before
packing up the gear.
After the Graal gig Death Line went on vacations nearly till the end of August...

DEATH LINE LIVE AT THE MARQUÊS!!!... On the eve of Saint John's day, Death Line
performed their very first live concert! The place was the Nabab bar near the Marquês
Gardens in Porto. The opening band was a punk/metal band named Stinkers. Death Line
started a bit after 11pm with "Victims", followed by "With Some Life In", the cover "For
Whom The Bell Tolls" (Original by Metallica), "Immortal Land", "Sounds Whispering in My
Head", and finished with "The Realms Of Lunacy"...
As usual in these first concerts thingies, there were more people from the bands than
the actual audience... Of course this was only a small bar gig and there was pratically
no publicity. Anyway the bands had a good time doing this gig, and at least the audience
that actually likes metal enjoyed the 30 minutes of Death Line's performance.
Currently Death Line's looking for more concerts for the months of July and August.

Demo #1?: Death Line recorded the last rehearsal in order to send the
recording to any interested parties. However the sound quality isn't as good as it was
expected... Even so there are a few samples in DL's sound samples page.

As far as the songs are concerned, song #1 ("Master Of Lies") will probably be cut out
from the band's repertoire. Song #6 ("Victims") is already completed, and Death
Line is now working mostly on songs #7 ("Ride To Eternity") and #10 ("Times"), leaving
on stand-by song #8 ("Dreams") and skipping #9... The titles of the songs #7 to #10 are
not definitive yet.
20/11/98 -
New DRUMMER: Finally, Death Line has got a new Drummer!!!... After a few
auditions the band chose Mario Lima, which is a very talented drummer, and it is
believed that he'll stay in the band on a permanent basis... The usual week rehearsal
place is now Mario's house...
14/6/98 -
As for the female vocals required for a part on the song "Immortal Land",
the band believes to have already found someone. Her name is Susana Leal, and she'll
probably be doing additional backing vocals in other songs too... However, additional
singers are very much welcome...
Note: check the feedback page for
the band's contacts...
