HISTORY This bands history started Newyears eve 1986 when a couple of friends was talking about starting a group, they formed DAMAGE: Jonas Söderlind, Tony Eriksson, Joakim Lundberg and Stefan Jonsson. They had no singer at that time. 'Damage' recorded a demotape in 1987. Still without a singer. In 1988 Charles Rytkönen left the band 'Sepher Jezirah' and joined 'Damage' as a singer. In 1989 they change their name from 'Damage' to Morgana Lefay. The same year they got a new guitarist, Tommi Karppanen. 1990 they make their first album (LP only) named 'Symphony Of The Damned' Only 537 copies was released, becous it was self financed by the band. In 1991 Their bassplayer (Joakim Lundberg) leaves the band and is replaced with Joakim Heder. 1992 they make another demo called 'Rumours Of Rain' In november that same year, Morgana Lefay signed with Black Mark that releases the demo in early 1993 with an additional song called 'Knowing Just As I' which is the name of the CD. At the end of that same year the album 'The Secret Doctrine' is released. In 1994 Tommi Karppanen left the band and is replaced with Daniel Persson. The album "Sanctified" is released in early 1995. In late 1995 they released a 'Best of' album called 'Past,Present,Future' They add 4 before unreleased CD tracks. 1996, july to august they record 'Maleficium' During -98 'Fata Morgana' is released. This was the work of their old recordlabel 'Black Mark' who gave it out without the bandmembers knowing about it even! It's only old songs on it...absolutely no new material. In 1998 they changed recordlabel to 'Noise Records' It took two years to change Labels due to legal matters. Which has resulted in a two year silence from the band. Now you might say that they released the 'Fata Morgana' album, but that was Black Mark, and not the band. It allso resulted in a namechange. They changed the name to 'Lefay' |
