(March 10, 2003) FULL
VERSION OF OFFICIAL SITE NOW OPEN
The full version of the official Bulletproof Monk website (bulletproofmonk.com)
opened a few days ago. The Flash site includes
downloadable media such as a gallery with images from the movie and
behind-the-scenes images featuring director Paul Hunter; links to both
the teaser & final trailers (in both Quicktime & Windows Media
formats in various sizes); downloadable wallpapers for your computer
featuring images of the cast; E-cards (slideshows featuring scenes from
the movie) that you can send to your friends; and AOL Buddy Icons. Perhaps the most
interesting feature on the site is the Storyboard feature. Various
storyboards (rough pre-production sketches of each scene of the movie)
are presented for a pivotal fight sequence between The Monk (Chow Yun-Fat)
and Struker (Karel Roden) on a rooftop. The storyboards are
presented in a slideshow as director Paul Hunter provides audio
commentary frame-by-frame. A few features on the site are
"coming soon", including video clips, production report, and
cast & crew info (most likely including bio & info on Paul
Hunter). click

TRAILER #2 PREMIERES THIS WEEKEND
The second trailer for Bulletproof Monk premiered in theatres
all across North America this weekend. I watched Daredevil
yesterday, and Trailer #2 was included in the trailers along with new
trailers for The Hulk, X-Men 2, and The League of Extraordinary
Gentleman. The second trailer shows more action scenes and dialogue
featuring Seann William Scott, the first clips of Irish actress Victoria
Smurffit's character, Jamie King's Bad Girl character & Seann William
Scott's Kar character sharing a kiss, and some of the same stuff seen in
the first trailer, including the Monk & Kar training sequence from the
end of the first trailer. Expect the Apple.com
website to post Trailer #2 in the next few days.

BULLETPROOF MONK MENTIONED IN ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY'S SPRING MOVIE PREVIEW
This week's issue of Entertainment
Weekly (February 14, 2003; with Jack Nicholson & Adam Sandler
on the cover) is the magazine's Spring Movie Preview, and includes
a paragraph on the upcoming Bulletproof Monk on page 40. The short
paragraph mentions that Seann William Scott actually got the role after
Heath Ledger dropped out, compares the movie with past martial arts &
computer effects hits such as The Matrix & Crouching Tiger, and also
includes a short quote and mention about director Paul Hunter. It
also confirms April 16 as the movie's release date.

MOVIE POSTER RELEASED
|
WEBSITE UPDATED WITH NEW
IMAGES
EmpireMovies.com
has posted the new movie poster for Bulletproof Monk. The
poster features the three lead actors against a glowing background.
The headline reads "BULLET PROOF" across the top in huge
letters, with the movie's title in smaller letters appearing at the
bottom, and a tag line which reads "A power beyond measure
requires a protector without equal". Not sure if this is
THE official movie poster, or just a teaser poster.
(thanks to Charlotte G. for the info!)
The official BulletproofMonk.com
website has been updated with darker colors and images matching the
just-released movie poster. No new images in the gallery or larger
versions of the movie trailer to download, but a message displayed on the
front page promises "Full Site Coming Soon".
