OUR HISTORY:
We formed in Aug. of 1995, without any idea of where the band would take us. Really, the only pre-conceived notion that we had, was that we wanted to play early 80's sounding punk rock. Luckily, it didn't take us long to figure out that we had a good thing going (we wrote 3 songs at our first practice.) Not long after that (in Nov.) we went to the studio for the first time. Looking back on it, the songs weren't that great, but not bad for the first 3 months of our first band.
Not too terribly much happened for the next few months, besides continuous song writing. Then, in May of 96, we played our first "Punk Rock show" at the 401 squat in Tulsa with the Lunch Bunch. Again, looking back, it wasn't that great of a show, but again, it was our first. Also in May, we played the high school battle of the bands, and actually won. Wow, all this reminising is making me ill. Anyway, not much happened between then and Dec, when we recorded for our demo. I must say, that recording sounded much better than our first. I guess it was around this time that we finally started getting more serious with our music. Songs about being white trash Oklahomans gave way to songs with subjects like: the hipocracies of Christianity, Racism, and other Anarchist themes. This was also around the time that we started getting a hint of recognition from the Oklahoma punk scene, and that made us pretty happy.
So on and on we went, growing steadily more active in the scene and it's politics. Then in Nov. of 97 we went into the studio again, this time to record for our first 7". That too turned out better than previous sessions (the guitar could've sounded better, damn Telecasters!) It was around this time that I decided to start Uncorporate Productions. Boy, if only i would've known how tough it was. Actually, running the label is pretty fun, it's very satisfying to accomplish things like putting out a record. Anyhow, laddy da, a few months go by, we play some shows, nothing too special. Then, in June, we set of on our Midwest/East Coast tour. We made it a collective effort between us and Norman's the Bastard People, with my pals $kumby tagging along. Well, let me summarize by saying that the 4 shows (out of the 10 booked) that we did play were fun, but the huge debt I fell into, was and still is, a pain in the ass. Overall, it was a good learning experience, and many cool people were met. Many special thanx to the $kumby fellas for saving our asses by hauling our trailor for us!!!!
