HARMONICS

Since their formation in 1990, The Tea Party have released a self-titled indie debut (1991), four full-length albums, as well as a CD-rom. Albums and tracks (other than the indie release) are listed chronologically here.

Splendor Solis is The Tea Party's first album, released in 1993. The Tea Party originally had a Jeff Martin-produced indie release, and most of Splendor Solis is what that indie CD evolved into. This album is slightly different from their later ones, but no less intense.

The River
Midsummer Day
A Certain Slant of Light
Winter Solistice
Save Me
Sun Going Down
In This Time
Dreams of Reason
Raven Skies
Haze on the Hills
The Majestic Song

The Edges of Twilight was released in 1995, to great acclaim. Its powerful force is unmistakable as The Tea Party put to use a grand total of 31 authentic Middle-Eastern instruments.

TRACKS:

Fire in the Head
The Bazaar
Correspondences
The Badger
Silence
Sister Awake
Turn the Lamp Down Low
Shadows on the Mountainside

In 1996, The Tea Party released a CD-rom, Alhambra, complete with music as well as new images, information on the band, and video clips.

TRACKS:

The Grand Bazaar
Inanna (acoustic)
Silence (acoustic)
Turn the Lamp Down (acoustic)

Sister Awake Remix

Transmission, released in 1997, is probably The Tea Party's most "electronic" album. It features, much like The Edges of Twilight, various eclectic instruments. Simply put, the songs on this album are excellent in so many ways.

TRACKS:

Psychopomp
Gyroscope

Transmission
Babylon
Pulse
Emerald
Aftermath

TRIPtych is The Tea Party's fourth full length album. Released June 8, 1999, it features an ever-morphing Tea Party using a very melodic yet distinct method of songwriting. A cover of Daniel Lanois' "The Messenger" is included on this album as well. Interesting events surrounded the recording of this album, some of which nearly had disastrous results.

TRACKS:

Touch
Underground
Great Big Lie
Heaven Coming Down
The Halcyon Days
The Messenger
Samsara
A Slight Attack
Taking Me Away
These Living Arms
Chimera
Gone

Tangents is The Tea Party's "collection" album. Some have called it their "Greatest Hits" album, but The Tea Party were quick to be the first to point out that they haven't had many hits. They prefer to stick to the standpoint that this is an album to show their fans "where we've been and where we're going". The album features new and old hits, two remixes, three new songs, and one cover.

TRACKS:

Walking Wounded
Temptation
The Messenger
Psychopomp
Sister Awake
The Bazzar
Save Me (remix)
Fire in the Head
Release
Heaven Coming Down
The River (remix)
Babylon
Waiting on a Sign

The Interzone Mantras, the new disc from The Tea Party is being hailed as "stripped down TP" and "sonically ambitious". In short, it has less instruments, more melody, and more guitar solos. Make of it what you will.

TRACKS:

Interzone
Angels
The Master & Margarita
Apathy
Soulbreaking
Lullaby
Must Must
White Water Siren
Cathartik
Dust To Gold
Requiem
Mantra
