"MAKE IT EASY ON YOURSELF"
written by Burt Bacaharach & Hal David

can be found on

LOVE STORY
Al De Lory
(Capitol Records)
released 1971

Al De Lory was Glen Campbell's producer, yet these versions of "Witchita Lineman" and "Galveston" suck. What gives? Vic uses this version of the Bacharach classic because Burt's only version has him singing on it.

"You're My Soul and Inspiration"
written by Barry Mann & Cynthia Weil, 1966

Class of '66
Floyd Cramer
(RCA Records)
released 1966

Other noteworthy cuts: Sweet Pea, Paperback Writer , Crying, 1-2-3,
Monday Monday

Cramer was Elvis' pianist for many years and scored a hit with "Last Date'. Much is made on the liners of Floyd's trademark "bent note" technique which sounds like a coffee pot percolating. He did these Class of albums from 1965 to 1972 and his version of "One Toke Over The Line" reveals it as the sucky song you always suspected it was.

"Bye Bye Love"
written by Barry Mann & Cynthia Weil, 1966

can be found on

Our Winter Love
Bill Pursell
(Columbia Records)
released 1962

Other noteworthy cuts: Born To Lose, I Walk the Line, Four Walls

Quite possibly Columbia's answer to the piano magic of Floyd Cramer!

"I've Got a Tiger By TheTail"
can be found on

Play Me A Country Song
"Big" Tiny Little
(Coral Records)
released 1962

Other noteworthy cuts: Your Cheating Heart,
King of the Road, Jambalaya, Cold Cold Heart
I Can't Stop Loving You, Oh Lonesome Me

The back cover "Other Big Tiny Little Records for Your Collection" indicate that ragtime and beer barrel polkas were Tiny's terrain before goin' country. I've only spotted one other of his albums in my thrifting trevails and it was a 70s era album. Tiny was still 50 pounds overweight but his grey beard gave him distinguished look.
