Just got in from the Nashville concert. Liz opened the main stage!
She had a beautiful rainbow colored dress with a orange-red shift. Her
femininity set off by a flower in her hair (great girly appeal).
My first thought was "why is she first and all alone?" I thought that
'stage fright' stuff would show again but, that is far removed (or at least
her display of it is gone). I remember seeing early MTV clips of her on
stage for her first tours; she didn't seem comfortable at all. Not any
more; not this show. She has really come around. She even had a few quips
to the audience in between songs speaking of how wonderfully cool the
weather is in Nashville compared to the dreadful heat in Texas. I don't
know if she'll ever be a tour monger, but for now she is a full fledged
entertainer / artist! I think it is the support she gets from the rest of
the girls backstage. This Lilith Fair tour is a leap of faith.
Later, as an encore, all of the artists came out for a group song. Liz
had changed but was once again in the spirit of the evening; dancing about
and keeping time by clapping. She even grabbed the microphone and started
the audience off a couple of times. I am totally proud of Liz and can't
wait to catch her again in her own show. Of course, if she rides the
Lilith bus again next year, I'll be there!
