"Reggae Dancing with James Poon" gets its unusual
name from a picture. While recording the song, Joe had found
a picture of a girl that they were all mad at reggae dancing with a kid
named James Poon. It was a black-mail-ready picture, and made
them crack up every time they saw it. Henry suggested they name
the song after it, and it was agreed.
to record the vocals in "Reggae Dancing with James Poon",
they moved all the equipment to the bathroom. The band was tired
of being in the garage, and there was no room elsewhere. Karl
stood in the shower while the rest of the band hung out on the floor.
Joe is obsessed with Ginger Spice.
the name 59 Donuts has a strange story behind it. Supposedly,
there was party for which 5 dozen donuts were ordered. When
they arrived, the party-goers counted them and there were only 59 of them
instead of 60. They spell doughnuts "donuts" because Karl
had a dream in which a man on a flaming pie told him they would be Doughnuts
without the "ugh", and so they are.
Karl, Joe, and even Keith are all responsible drivers. Ha
ha...
the band often eats at Blimpie or El Greco (the diner)...or at least
some sort of diner...where Henry orders chicken soup, Karl orders a cheeseburger
or a toasted corn muffin, and Joe always eats some sort of Pineapple dessert
(like Pineapple Yummy...ha ha ha)
the band often plays in Joe's garage, which is packed with giant speakers,
amp heads, amps, and a PA system...along with the musicians and their
instruments
Henry does not have a high E-string on his guitar...just like Keith Richards!
when driving in Joe's car, the band and friends often listens to "El
Cinco Punto Nueve" (sp?), the Spanish radio station.
