There's No Clash Like an Old Clash

Joe and Paul In Concert (25354 bytes)Rumors persist in Britain that the original members of The Clash - Joe Strummer, Mick Jones, Paul Simonon, and Topper Headon - are getting back together. The band exploded forcefully after their Combat Rock album in 1983 with Joe keeping the old name, and getting three new guys, while Mick started Big Audio Dynamite. Late last year, Strummer fired everyone but Paul, leading to speculation that he was ready for some kind of reconciliation with his old mates. The reunion could be helped along by the generally negative reviews which have greeted the recent Clash album (Cut The Crap) and Big Audio Dynamite LP (This Is Big Audio Dynamite). The Clash have greeted all inquiries with a stiff "no comment" but London just may be calling again.
