Former members, and other stuff:

The members of ANESTHESIA have already individually established themselves on the German scene. Jan Rubach (bass) and Thomas Nack (drums) should be familiar to die-hard metal fans as the groovy rhythm section of Gamma Ray, as well as shouter Stephan "Schraube" Arndt , known from punkband Razzia. Coming from the alternative/ Grunge scene Stephan as a frontman adds a raw edge to the ANESTHESIA universe. The line-up is complemented by the dual crunch of all-guns-blazing guitarists Andreas Mier and Hendrik Schött.
To trace the origins of ANESTHESIA we have to go back to 1983, as metal band Regardless rehearsed somewhere in the bowels of North German town Lübeck. They found a thrash metal identity two years later under the name Necromancy before they in March 1988 metamorphosed into ANESTHESIA. Around one year later they ventured into the White Noise Studio in Hamburg, to record their first demo: "The Hour Of Zero". The finished result spawned encouraging reviews from the likes of Metal Hammer, Rock Hard, Metal Star and Breakout Magazines.
The following year the band recorded "Tomorrow I'll Stop" - a demo comprising 5 new ANESTHESIA scorchers, and this time the word of mouth took the band to a whole new level, reaping good reviews from as unlikely places as Japan, U.S.A., New Zeeland, Brazil & Eastern Europe.
When the third ANESTHESIA demo "Imaginary Limits Of Imagination" surfaced it was obvious that the band had earned themselves not only an underground cult status but also keen interest from the record labels, and it was time to start working on a full Epic.
So here it is: The CD debut of ANESTHESIA "The State Of Being Unable To Feel Pain" representing the best of their three demos as well as brand new material, guaranteed to give the stagnating metal scene of the 90's a long overdue mainline injection. Listen to it right now on the net.
