An exciting, joyful and uplifting performer, Laura Love has seen her career soar since her 1994 performance at the New York Singer-Songwriter Festival in Carnegie Hall, which garnered rave reviews and led to a contract with Mercury Records. "Octoroon," her first Mercury release, displays her unique weaving of African and Caribbean rhythms, traditional acoustic instruments and unexpected harmonies into a style she calls "Afro/Celtic." Playing bass and acoustic guiter with her band, Love has won high praise from Billboard, The New York Times and other publications for her high-energy performances and recordings. Love's concerts last year at Shoreline [Community College in Seattle, WA] was an early sellout.
