EROTIC LIQUID CULTURE
Vocalist David Van Landing, guitarist Jon Drenning, bassist Jeff Lords and drummer Ravi Jakohtia
Once in a great while a band emerges with an innovative sound and attitude all it’s own. EROTIC LIQUID CULTURE is a band that exceeds this criteria. Consisting of seasoned players, this quartet was the objective of founding members Jon Drenning and Jeff Lords who are direct descendants of the band Crimson Glory. The ideas and passion of the kind of music Jon & Jeff had in mind required a percussionist with grooves drenched in attitude, Ravi Jakohtia was the man for the job. Ravi’s primal style was the added influence the band needed. Last, but not least, a vocalist with self-identity and discipline was needed to complete the package. With several attempts to find an individual that could meet these desired expectations, the band stumbled on David Van Landing. With a good amount of studio time and road experience, David has worked with talented bands such as Mannekin, Tony MacAlpine and is currently fronting MSG (Michael Schenker Group). On a recent tour to Japan, David completed a double live MSG album and once again won the respect of many. After much time and effort, EROTIC LIQUID CULTURE was finally born with the release of their self titled cd. With a lush rhythm oriented brand of psychedelic grooves, EROTIC LIQUID CULTURES’ unique and aggressive song writing teeters between infectious melodies and erupting moodiness. MICHAEL BRITTON
BRITTON/UNLEASHED is the newest release from national rock artist and lead vocalist MICHAEL BRITTON and is now available on CD. This 10 song hard rocking CD displays metal with a versatile twist and stays true to the melodic metal sound of the 80’s. Michael Britton began his music career at 12 years old in Pasadena, CA, playing guitar and singing in a rock band. Across town there were two brothers playing the same clubs, Alex and Eddie Van Halen. In the 70’s Michael Britton joined forces with Mark Poynter’s band “Headwinds.” Headwinds and Van Halen appeared in concert many times together at the Pasadena Exhibition Hall. After a record deal at Screen Gems/EMI went band for Headwinds, Britton and Poynter put together DEALER with bassist Glen Basset and drummer Tommy Lee. From 1979-1981 Dealer toured the western states in small and medium venues. The song “Drinkin and Drivin (No More)” featured on the BRITTON/ROCK HARDER CD is a Michael Britton/Tommy Lee co-write from the Dealer days, and was written while driving back from a gig at the Rock Palace in Parker, AZ. Dealer terminated when Lee left for the Hollywood glam band “London” which renamed Motley Crue, Poynter joined Tommy Girvin (Now with Eddie Money) to be in Girvin’s then Pasadena favorite band “Smile,” and Britton started “ROMEO” featured on an Iron Works picture disk which was released in the U.S. and Japan. In 1984 drummer Gary Holland had just left Great White. He and Britton began putting together the original L.A. based BRITTON line up with Phoenix guitar shredder Tom McMellen that released the vinyl and cassette version of Rock Hard in 1988. BRITTON songs can be heard on radio stations coast to coast and world wide. They are featured in major motion pictures and television sound tracks and now BRITTON/UNLEASHED is available for hard rock fans worldwide. Michael Britton has made his 2nd home on the intermountain west where he has started Britton Recording Studio’s and stays busy performing in smaller venues in that area.

THE JONES GANG
Pop Rock with attitude may be the best way to sum up this over the top quartet from Louisville, KY. Using influences as diverse as Van Halen to The Beatles, they have created a magic that has been described as “a breath of freah air for a stale, depressed music scene” (TPM Magazine Dec ‘97) and “power pop...which employs not only melody and mean hooks but also backing vocals sweet enough to cause cavities” (The Leo Feb ‘97). With an in your face presence and outrageous stage show, they have fought an uphill battle to beat the stereotyping of closeminded critics and have silenced them in almost all cases. Formed in early 1997 by vocalist/songwriter Ronny Jones and guitarist/songwriter Shane Weigleb, they set out to put together the combination of attitude and musicianship which would one day trademark their high octane shows. Teaming up with regional veterans Chuck Skibo (drums) and Bobby Chesney (bass), they have accomplished recording their independently released debut CD (which had over 250 copies preordered), opened shows for such national acts as Days Of the New, Dokken Bullet Boys, E’nuff Z’nuff and Edenstreet and they played a sold out show in Louisville in which Sebastian Bach opened. They have received great reviews in several magazines and radio air play on several stations. Also, they have created a strong following in a short period of time that includes IN, KY, AL and OH. Driven by their love of Rock N’ Roll and desire to play live, The Jones Gang have been playing anywhere and everywhere with a goal of reaching as many people as possible. With a reckless attitude and utmost belief in quality of the music and live shows, these guys have proven time and time again the ability to win over hostile crowds. Furthermore, with the public disinterest in the overkill and flavor of the week bands, their fresh sound, appearance and show has created a buzz and has people lining up for signed posters, photos and CDs. If the combination of desire, dedication, attitude and ablility takes you to the top, look out for The Jones Gang, these guys are going off of the chart! Write to the band at: The Jones Gang, P.O. Box 1109, Mt. Washington, KY 40047 or e-mail: TheJones69@aol.com.

HEAVENS SAKE is a three piece “Rock” band from Winston Salem, NC. The band has quite a knack for writing catchy, hard hitting originals. Focusing on creating a “Real” rock sound, with attitude and flair, HEAVENS SAKE is “The Alternative to Alternative.” With an image that lies somewhere between “glitter and the gutter,” HEAVENS SAKE brings the flash and fun back into rock and roll. MERCURY RISING Vocalist Clarence Osborne, guitarists Mike Evans and Judd Rizzo, bassist Chris Brush, and drummer Jeff Moos.
Mercury Rising formed in 1991. After several months of auditions, the band quickly began playing club dates and in 1993 released a five song demo that gained quick recognition with underground press. In 1994 Mercury Rising recorded it’s first full length album Upon Def Ears. The record created such a large stir on the fanzine circuit that it caught the attention of several indies labels and the band signed with Dominion Records. After a limited release in the United States, Mercury Rising was picked up by Modern Music subsidiary Noise International and Upon Def Ears was released in Europe and Japan in 1997. Mercury Rising returns with their newest offering Built Rome. A collection of songs featuring guitarist Mike Evans and Judd Rizzo. Both experienced players showcasing new chops and an advanced idea on songwriting. Building Rome is a thematic and dynamic new direction in which Mercury Rising explores new musical textures and lyrically confronts the paradoxes facing mankind as history forges ahead. Building Rome metaphorically illustrates the challenges each of us must overcome to achieve success. From the opening track “Cathedrals” in which man questions the honesty of organized religion as blind faith, to the track “Building Rome” in which he resolves to carry on despite past failures and overwhelming odds. This new offering from Mercury Rising is a musical and intellectual odyssey and a must for the serious music collector. Mercury Rising are currently rehearsing for upcoming dates in the United States and will be embarking on a tour in Europe in the fall of 1998. ROADSIDE ATTRACTION
Tim Baker (Vocals), Phil Johnson (Guitars, Backing Vocals), Ron Restani (Bass, Backing Vocals), and Rafael Guerrero (Drums).
Welcome to the world of Roadside Attraction! The band was started in January of 1992 by guitarist Phil Johnson. Over the next couple of years, members changed and a sound was forged. That sound has been dubbed “New Century Rock.” In a time when popular music has been divided into too many genres, Roadside Attraction seeks to unite different styles under one banner. Roadside Attraction’s music is a multi-faceted array of musical styles with a solid foundation in rock n’ roll. The band’s debut CD, Rock Formations is a taste of what this band is capable of. In nine songs, the band covers musical ground like funk rock, southern rock, reggae, Latin, and punk/alternative. The beauty of this band as a writing team is each member’s tastes outside of traditional rock n’ roll genre. Tim is into Motown and classic rock. Phil loves the blues and classic rock. Ron keeps everyone looking forward with his taste in new bands. It may seem that all of these different influences would lead to a disjointed sound. That, however, is not the case. Roadside Attraction’s sound is very versatile, yet cohesive and easily accessible to the average listener. Roadside Attraction hails from San Jose, CA and performs all over the San Francisco Bay Area and beyond. They’ve opened for a few national acts such as Gilby Clarke of Guns n’ Roses and Night Ranger as well as prominent regional acts like the Alley Boys and Flower SF. Their previous cassette release Time and Patience (1995) sold very well and was reviewed in both Music Connection and Circus Magazine. Roadside Attraction is simply a good time rock n’ roll band that lives to share its music with the world. It doesn’t matter if the crowd is highschool age or in their forties, they love the music and, even after four hours, ask for more. Rock n’ roll is supposed to be fun and with this band it is. Come to the New Century with Roadside Attraction!

NOVEMBER
“Welcome my friends to the revolution!!” Many times through the history of modern music there have been musicial upheavals. In the 50’s a new musical form was born out of rebellion from the norm which became known as “Rock ‘N’ Roll.” In the 60’s a new movement wea fronted by a then little known outfit which became known as “The Beatles” with their studio experimentation they pushed the envelope even further. Like most things in life people soon tire of the same thing. What was once an “alternative” soon becomes the accepted norm for all to follow, a blanket of comfort for all to wrap themselves in, while following th eleader down the path of blandness. Enter “November,” a breath of fresh air in an otherwise stale musical climate. After finishing an album in Sweden, Paul Marko went back to the states to form a new band with no pre-conceptions accept to explore new horizons in heavy rock. After hooking up with drummer Blane Gilbert through a musual friend, Blane contacted Mike Murray the singer in his classic rock cover band and Mark Dubose bassist and long time friend from a former band. Once the lineup was set they started pre-production of their debut record. With influences from Rainbow to Soundgarden they have come up with a wildly original style of hard rock, a darkly melodic, ominous sound unheard of in todays angst ridden , lame music scene. With the rumblings of the neglected hard rock audience being felt throughout the world it would seem there is a “New Day Rising”...”Welcome My Friends To the Revolution”!!! TOWNE CRYER 21
Guitarist Erik Deitz, vocalist Tim Kopp, guitarist Chris Kopp, bassist Chris Palestro, and drummer Steve Wagner.
Revolutionize (rev-uh-LUU-shun-nlz) verb 1. To change radically or drastically. 2. To bring about a radical change in. Transform, metamorphose. 3. Album released by Towne Cryer 21 to cause upheaval in the music industry. Thwne Cryer 21 is about to take on a stagnant music genre filled with three-chord, alternative, “I hate myself” bands and turn in into what it should be. Music that makes you feel every part of your body. Melodies, crunch, hooks, and bottom end; it’s all there in a way that’s never been presented before. That is essence in what Revolutionize is all about. In addition to keeping with the theme of political and moral reforms of the late eighteenth century, they intend to revolutionize the music of this century. Based in New York’s Hudson Valley, the quintet Towne Cryer 21 are definitely not into following what the latest trend dictates, but rather playing what comes from their hearts. Formed in 1990, the band built a strong local following and then began spreading out farther from home by playing such markets as New York City, New Jersey, Connecticutt, and Pennsylvania, where they continue to build their fan base. The nine tracks on Revolutionize blend power and melody to near perfection, as evidenced on songs such as ‘Days Gone By,’ ‘Seize The Day,’ ‘Rage,’ and the band’s anthem ‘The Cryer.’ “I think that what makes us unique is the diverse backgrounds and influences in the band. We listen to everything from Billy Joel to Metallica, and when we write we encompass a mixture of all that we love about music. That’s where our appeal comes from” says Chris Kopp. Not afraid to stretch their musical abilities, Towne Cryer 21’s material covers bases ranging from simple, melodic, radio-friendly tracks to more technically driven “muso-oriented” material. The members of Towne Cryer 21 have their heads on straight. “In a business as tough as the music business, it’s hard for a band to gain commercial success while still staying true to what got them there.” says Tim Kopp. “The music industry as it is right now needs aradical change. Everything out there has been done and re-done. We want to offer something new and bring music into the 21st century.” adds Erik Deitz. There is no doubt that Towne Cryer 21 is in it for the long haul. With a positive outlook on life and their future, the only other thing a band would need is strong material. With Towne Cryer 21, that’s not a problem.

ANOTHER SOCIETY
So Sharon Stone has a bondage menage-a-trois with James Hetfield and Page Hamilton and nine months later she gives birth to a pumpkin-headed love child. In a big swinging nutshell, that’s the genesis of Another Society, four fine your gentlemen who hail from what must be the loudest swamp in Tennessee. And they’d like you to be made aware of this one simple fact: They rock, and their second album, Blood Wrong, will be out soon. Okay, so maybe that’s two things. The boys in Another Society aren’t real big on math. They’re big on rock. That’s just the way they are--real focused-like. Who’s the President? Who gives a crap. The Pathfinder found a bunch of rocks on Mars! Big deal. We got plenty damn good rock right here. Today’s Christmas? The Super Bowl? Secretary’s Day? Looks like just another day to us. Another day to rock your ass off, that is. So come on over and fill your bowl witha heapin’ helpin’ of what singer Luke John likes to call “Chunk Rock” (as in, you know, chunka, chunka, chunka, chunka.....) Yeah, it’s so thick you’ll be tempted to eat it with a fork, but you’ll wanna get your face down in there and root around like a hog, to ge every last drop. Because this is music that melts plastic furniture. That pulls the wings of fflies and isn’t sorry. It steps on baby chicks. It causes cancer in laboratory rats, turns frontal lobes into Jell-O, and once exploded an old lady’s shivering wet poodle. It’s rude and loud, burps in church, and doesn’t send thank you notes. But don’t get the wrong idea. These guys have their sensitive side, too. They’re capable of slow, lyrical songs, perfect for more romantic activities. Like a candlelit bath with your significcnt other., in a vat of Meisterbrau. Or bong water. The new album, Blood Wrong is on PC Music, a cute little furry label just down the street from the koalas in the quaint California metropalis of San Diego. Soon, it will be annoying neighbors everywhere.

TEN
Vocalist Gary Hughes, lead guitarist Vinny Burns, drummer Greg Morgan, guitarist John Halliwell, and keyboardist Ged Rylands.
What originally started life as a couple of Gary Hughes albums quickly evolved into something much bigger with the arrival of former Dare members Vinny Burns and Greg Morgan. Veteran producer Mike Stone (Journey, Asia, etc.) was brought in to oversee the mixing of the record and added and extra special sheen to the project. On its release in Japan the album received 95/100 in Burrn! magazine. It entered the Japanese hard rock/metal chards at #3, the international artists chart at #11 and th enational charts (which has Japanese and foreign artists) at #33. In the UK praise has included 4Ks in Kerrang!, 9/10 in Frontiers and 10/10 in Hard Roxx.

LIVING SACRIFICE
Vocalist Bruce Fitzhugh, drummer Lance Garvin, guitarist Jason Truby, and bassist Chris Truby.
Together for over seven years, Little Rock, Arkansas’ Living Sacrifice has matured into a forceful, well-rounded band, with a new album, Reborn, that exemplifies the meanings of perserverance and musical growth. “This is a rebirth of the band, thus the title Reborn,” says vocalist/bassist Bruce Fitzhugh. After a line-up change that resulted in Fitzhugh taking over singing duties, the band began heading in a slightly more hardcore direction than the speedier, nearly grindcore sound of their last record. “We’re still into that kind of stuff,” says Fitzhugh, “but we already explored that sound. We didn’t want to repeat ourselves.” Citing the way in which the band’s listening habits influenced their previous recordings, the quartet made a conscious decision not to let their influences factor into their own material this time around. “We didn’t listen to anything remotely heavy while writing this album,” Fitzhugh explains. “We wanted it to be more original and not contrived.” Reborn blends aggressive vocals with emotion-driven rhythms, tribal percussion and hypnotic industrial loops to create a heavy and unique sound that fuses a path between extreme metal and hardcore. After recording a demo in 1990, Living Sacrifice caught the attengion of R.E.X. Music, a small independent label bases in Nashville. At an average age of 19, the band went into the studio in 1991 with Believer’s Kurt Bachman at the helm to record their self-titled debut. Their second album, Nonexistent, was recorded in 1992, and 1994 saw the release of their third offering, Inhabit, also produced by Bachman and Joey Daub of Believer. In between records, Living Sacrifice also shows their diversity by having a track appear on an industrial-influenced remix album entitled Metamorphosis. Scott Albert of then-labelmates Circle of Dust handled the remix wizardry. R.E.X.’s demise took all of these titles temporarily out of print. For those of you who are already familiar with Living Sacrifice’s work, “approach this album with no preconceptions except that it will be heavy,” Fitzhugh warns. “The older material doesn’t even compare. This will destroy it.”

ADRENALINE KICK
Vocalist Mitch Pritchard, guitarist Daz Ryder, Guitarist Dave Cooke, bassist Nick White, and drummer Mark Welch.
No more messin around, alright? No more wasting our time with limp wet bands, who’ve played a couple of their dad’s records and tried to approximate a jingly-jangly 60’s sound through week kneed guitars and floppish melodies. How long’s it all gonna last anyway? Coupla months? Let’s get back to some real rock ‘n’ roll, with guitars cranking up to the max and vocals spat out with venom and attitude! These are vicious times and we need some vicious music to accompany them. Thus Adrenalin Kick. Well, we could stop right there, couldn’t we? The name alone invokes angst-ridden, fist-clenched, teeth-gritted tension that speaks volumes. I mean, you could take an educated guess at what they’re gonna sound like before I even draw your attention to the shredding material they’ve already laid down. And when I highlight the best of this schorchin’ set of songs - ‘Deadpool,’ ‘Chosen Few,’ ‘Burning Down’ and ‘Innocent Man’ the mist will start to clear, you’ll nod your head wisely and say, “Yeah, I get the picture. So when can I get to see ‘em live? Gotcha! And yep, for all the ball-breakin’ punk-metal contained on these mighty demos, live is where Adrenalin Kick really happens. That’s where Nick White and Mark Welch’s bass and drums shake the foundations and churn your guts, where Daz Ryder and Dave Cooke’s guitars claw their way through your sense like a sonic cleaver and where Mick Pritchard’s roaring vocals finally shatter your bones - just to make sure, like. Live through that kind of experience and you’ll understand exactly what I’ve been talking about. Found yourself on a mushy heap on the floor? Then I’m talking to the wrong people. See, Adrenalin Kick are a demanding bunch. They’re not knocking out these heavy-duty slabs of pure unadulterated ‘90’s ROCK for nothin’ y’know - they want something back. They want the kinda commitment they’ve already injected into their boiling veins, ‘cuz this stuff ain’t goin’ away - it’ll be here tomorrow and it’ll be here in ten years time. So whether you’re a discerning punter or a true player with the means and the vision to make things happen, come out and throw your lot with Adrenalin Kick. When the going gets tough, it’s time to kick out the jams, muthafukka!!!
