Ash Latest
Kerrang! 11 May 1996
1997's hidden tracks and tour dates
ASH have included the first two songs they ever recorded on their
just-released debut album, '1977' - but fans of the band won't be able
to play them unless they know a secret 'code'.
The songs, 'Jack Names The Planets' and 'Don't Know', feature on a
limited edition version of the CD, and can only be accessed by people
calling 0891 197700 and listening to a recorded message. Calls
should cost no more than 5Op.
In addition, the Irish trio also have a limited edition vinyl version of
'1977' available in a gatefold sleeve, sold for a limited time at the 1977
price of £3.99 in Virgin and
CNWW stores. The offer lasts
until May 13.
The band will now begin their UK tour at Bristol University on May
15. The rest of the confirmed dates are: Southampton Guildhall May
16, Lancaster Sugarhouse 17, Norwich UEA 18, Sheffield Octagon 19,
Newport Centre 21, Wolverhampton Civic Hall 22, Cambridge Corn
Exchange 23, London Kentish Town Forum 24, Manchester Academy
26, Glasgow Barrowlands 28, Newcastle Mayfair 29, Nottingham Rock
City 30, London Kentish Town Forum 31. The band will also play two
shows in Ireland during July. These are: Dublin SFX 1, Belfast
Maysfield Leisure Centre 2.
