1039/Smoothed Out Slappy Hours was Green Days first full length album. It is a mixture of their previous recordings "39/Smooth," "1,000 hours," "Slappy" and "The Big One". As you can see they took some tracks of those albums, put it on this one and added the names together. The album was released under Californian punk label Lookout! Records and contains the hits "Paper Lanterns," "Going to Pasalacqua" and the Operation Ivy cover "Knowledge". The drumming on this album was not done by Tre it was done by former GD member Al Sobrante. Green Day were 18 years old at the time of recording this album.
