The Hot One was first put down on paper in 1995 as a short story. It was a story that had been floating around in my head for quite some time. A story about how I wanted to get back at all the assholes who messed with me during school. At the time of The Hot One's penning, I was still in high school so keep that in mind.
Anyway's, so here I am. An angst ridden high school student who's only escape is through his writings. Now fast forward two and a half years. June 1997. I began to take the short story, and turn it into a script. It was slow and hard, but I got it done. But, alas, as I write this I am still doing another re-write. I fear that this script will never be complete.
The Hot One is based on a true story. A story that unfolded in my head. It is something, and I know how evil this sounds, something I would have done if I knew I could get away with it. I'm sure that there are many people out there that read the script and are disgusted by it, but so be it. That's how it goes. This is my story, and I'm going to tell it. Maybe someday I'll actually post the short story so you can see the differences.
Before I go though, I must say this. I do not and never will condone the situations in the screenplay. True, I MAY have wanted to do them, but I'm not telling other people to do it. Catch the drift? The Hot One is a story that I hope will captivate the audience. I wrote it out of regular "format" whatever the hell that means to try to make people think. Will this work? I guess we'll have to wait and see.
