ADAPTATIONS
The most dominant plant in the Everglades is saw grass.
Saw grass has adapted to the Everglades because the soil
has a very low in oxygen and are very acidic. Muskrats
are about 30 centimeters long with brown to blackish
hair and a dense underfur. They have adapted by being
able to swim large distances and being good at it. Hawks
are 10-15 inches long and feed on small mammals and
reptiles. Crocodiles are cold blooded animals and have
30-40 teeth in each jaw. Gater snakes are 1 meter long
and 2.5cm in diameter and have adapted to living in
wetlands by being aquatic and territorial animals.
