Their unnatural history

When Throbbing Gristle broke up, Peter Christopherson and Genesis P. Orrige, along with John Balance and Alex Fergusson started a band called Psychic T.V., after a short while some internal politics or something made Christopherson and Balance create COIL! This proved very successful as Coil were actually able to produce quality music which was something Psychic T.V. seemed to have problems with. In fact, some of they songs were quite excellent, but no one was interested as their lyrics were a little on the provocative side! Probably their most memorable moment came when they did the sound track for Clive Barker's Hellraiser. This would have been a huge success for them had the producers not changed the music at the last minute to something which was a little less scary!

Since then, they have gone from strength to strength always staying just ahead of technology and electronic music in general, although that won't last for too much longer with the likes of Bill Laswell and Mick J Harris around the corner.
