Melanie Jayne Chisholm came into the world on January 12, 1974, in Liverpool, Merseyside. She had two brothers. Her parents were divorced when she was young, so her mum took the children to live in Widnes, a small industrial town near Liverpool. Her mother worked as a singer and secretary, and married a cabdriver who played in bands. Music was part of the family, and Melanie dreamed of becoming a pop star.
She studied ballet for three years, with the hope of becoming a dancer. She auditioned for a musical, but ended up working in a fish and chips shop. That all changed when she answered an ad in "The Stage" and became a Spice Girl.
She has always been a fitness fanatic. She's a nonsmoker, jogs, works out, and loves being active. She is obsessed with the game football. She's a staunch supporter of the Liverpool football team. In spite all of her good points, she is the least popular Spice Girl.
