This album is easily dubbed NEUROSIS' "transition" album, displaying a more concentrated songwriting effort, layered instrumentation and a refined sense of dynamics. The addition of Steve Von Till (guitar, vocals) rounded out the core of NEUROSIS, giving the band a powerful frontline for their ever-evolving progressive mindset.
