Evan
Name:My name is Evan, and that's what I prefer to be called.
Email:I have 2 e-mail addresses: MadSeasn11@aol.com and AICSG@aol.com. You can
send stuff to either one, but I primarily use MadSeasn11.
Age: DOB: 9-20-77, which makes me 20.
Location: I live in Chattanooga TN, not exactly a haven for Soundgarden fans (or for
people like me in general, I need to move...).
What I do: I work full time and go to school part time. I'm studying computer
programming at Chatt. State Tech. Community College (hopefully not for long,
I'm planning to transfer next fall), and I want to be a computer programmer
(since I can't quite sing like Chris...lol).
How i Discovered SG: I started listening to Soundgarden when I was in the 7th grade. A friend
of mine had bought Badmotorfinger, and when I heard it I had to have it. I've
been a huge fan ever since.
Favourite Album/Songs: I have several favorite SG songs, but my top 5 would have to be
"Outshined", "Holy Water", "Fell on Black Days", "Ugly Truth", and "Tighter &
Tighter" (it's hard for me to narrow it down that much, but there you go). I
also have to throw "Like Suicide" in there (especially the accoustic version).
My favorite album was, is, and probably always will be Badmotorfinger cause it
was the first one I heard, and because I think that Chris Cornell's vocals
were in peak form on that album (with the exception of Temple of the Dog).
Cornell's vocals are probably my favorite aspect of Soundgarden because I am a
singer myself, and I can really appreciate how incredible his voice really is.
Live Experiences:Sadly, I never had the chance to see them live. Bands like SG hardly ever
(if ever) come to this town because most of the people around here listen to
country and shit like that, and when a good band does come not enough people
go to see them, so they don't come back.
Other Bands I like: I'm pretty selective when it comes to music, so this list won't be too
long. My two favorite bands by far are Alice In Chains and Soundgarden, but I
also like Pearl Jam, STP, Metallica, and Black Sabbath (old Sabbath). There
are a lot of other bands that I like a little bit, but not enough to buy their
albums or anything.
Any Comments: I just want to make a few comments about Soundgarden, and music in
general. Music is extremely important to me, it's my only real escape from my
everyday life. I have a lot of problems and I've been though a lot of shit in
my life, and listening to bands like AIC and SG is my solice, something I can
identify with...I guess you could say that it's therapeutic in a way, it helps
me feel better when I get depressed. I think that Chris said it best when he
said that "music is my drug". So, obviously it was quite a blow to me when SG
broke up. And when I look at the state of the music industry today, it really
saddens me to see that there is so much shit and so little good out there
anymore, bands like Soundgarden are so very rare in this world. But this
doesn't mean that I'm mad or upset with SG for breaking up, I probably
wouldn't have lasted as long as they did. Instead, I am that much more
appreciative for what they contributed to the world, and especially for
myself. I really don't know what I would do without it. Anyway, that's about
all I have to say right now so I'm gonna wrap this up. I hope you read all
this cause it took me a fucking long time to write it...lol. Later.
