Gallagwar
Name:Mike, but I prefer Gallagwar
E-Mail: Gallagwar@aol.com
Age: Wise beyond my years at 16.
Location: Wayside, Ocean Twp., NJ, the shittiest place on the planet. I live
in a rich neighborhood with all the snobby posers who couldn't buy themselves
a brain of their own.
What I do: I go to Ocean High School, am constantly between jobs at music or
grocery stores, and I spend my spare time jammin' on my bass, playing baseball
and hockey (real sports), watching TV, getting drunk, and practicing my Jesus
Christ pose.
How I discovered SG: I was eight years old and for my birthday, my uncle
gives me Louder Than Love. I really never listened to music before except for
Bruce Springsteen, Michael Jackson (what a tormented youth I was), and the
Beatles. I listened to the tape (my dad didn't have a CD player yet although
LTL later became the first CD I ever purchased) and I was like, "cool." I
didn't really care for it at the time because I didn't have much interest in
music. But as I got older I became enfatuated with music and Soundgarden was
the reason.
Favorite Song/Album: My favorite album is Superunknown. There has never been
an album better than this one by anybody. It's the cream of the crop as far
as music is concerned. Ultramega OK and DOTU are my second favorites. My
favorite songs are Fell On Black Days, The Day I Tried to Live and No
Attention. The first two are just pure musical genius while the latter just
makes you wanna get up and break something.
Live Experiences:I saw them live at the Stone Pony in Asbury Park for the last fifteen minutes
of the show when I was 12. The fifteen minutes I saw were great though. They
played Gun and an extended version of Jesus Christ Pose. When they got called
out for an encore, some moron shouted out, "Play 'Freebird'". Chris went,
"You know what, we know Freebird and we can play the longest fuckin' version
of Freebird you've ever heard." They ended up playing Spoonman for the
encore. I missed most of the show because there was a drive-by down the
street and no was allowed to get through. Asbury Park is the filthiest, most
crime-ridden city in New Jersey.
Other Bands: I am very picky, hate anything that is unjustly popular, and
can't stand most forms of music. I worship Soundgarden and what they stood
for. Other respectable acts I listen to are Live, The Nixons, Everclear,
Alice In Chains, Led Zeppelin, the Beatles, Phish, a little Metallica (Load
only), some Pearl Jam (Vs. and of course Temple of the Dog), Hendrix, and Pink
Floyd.
My Comments: I have no further comments, I just told you my whole life
basically.
