Cats

Name:Catherine Veit...or CATS4KIM as i am more commonly known on the list. i close my letters with this name to acknowledge a man of whom i have a great deal of respect and admiration for.

Email:Lilricky81@aol.com

Location: i currently preside in Orange, CA....20 min from LA....10 min from Disneyland... my family is a legacy when it comes to Disney related employment...me my dad, sister, cousin have all been members of their organized mafia ...as the cast likes to call it.. needless to say, i carry all the inside dirt. you may also come to know Orange as the birthplace and mecca of ska related music... it seems ironic, to be an intense fan of a band whose members spent their lives detesting what my community has to offer musically. but let me just say for the record, if there was to be a bloody protest, i'd be there front and center with burning torch in hand.

Occupation: hmmm, let's see...no career yet anyway.. a couple crap jobs here and there while still attending school. as i look down the road, i'll be focusing on either criminology in general, or forensic studies. but these days i prefer to watch classic episodes of I LOVE LUCY..(hence my screen name and addy "lilricky" duh!!) with a grape BLOW POP in one hand, and a DR. PEPPER in the other.

SG discovery story: probably the very first time i heard outshined on the radio. at that time i was about 3/4 sold on sg and their tunes... the real obsession didn't evolve until i finally decided to buy BMF almost 2 years after it's first release... then came SU not too long after. i've been on my hands and knees ever since.

Live Experiences: i find myself most fortunate to have experienced sg's music live... most memorable being DEC. 1st 96'.... as an symbol of my undying love and spontaneous behavior, i was determined to be the first to sit my ass down in line the day tickets were sold... they went on sale around 10am, i arrived at 4:30 with my blanky... and could you fukin' believe that there were already two other people in front of me...what a disappointment!! so no pit, but my seats were still pretty decent. the events of that night are too intense and lengthy to post here. on the other hand, July 94' show was probably one of the worst nights of my life....bad cold, bad neighborhood, bad seats (possibly row tripple "z") and on the way home we got on the wrong freeway headed for Vegas.

Favourite Album/songs:it's difficult to narrow down the 2 greatest rock opus' ever composed...even though both albums are complete opposites musically and arrangement wise ....so i didn't bother..my favs are both SU and BMF. fav sg songs of all time would have to be: beyond the wheel, mailman, nothing to say, flies, rusty cage, slaves, gun and suicide for kim's solos.... jcp, and 4th of July.. home to one of my fav lyrics "jesus trys to crack a smile, beneath another shovel load." the hell with rock lyricist, chris is a poet....the next Edwin A. Robinson! (my fav poet!)

Other Bands: AIC, rage, ministry, melvins, L7, social distortion, rev. horton heat, weezer, TORI AMOS, boss hog, sonic youth, morphine, babes in toyland, rollins band, white zombie

Comments: i just want to thank soundgarden for every b-side, a-side, live preformance, lame MTV interview, mag article, and online chat that they've shared with us for the past 12 years. you and your music hold a special place in all of our hearts (especially mine!) i love u kim!
