niki

Name:niki.. some people call me "nikster" =)~
Email:grrlgoal30@aol.com or anunkind@aol.com
Age:6-5-79... old enough to get in a whole heap of trouble
Location:hell, errrrr.... west chester university. i'm moving to seattle injune, tho.
What you do:not much of anything. i leave AOL running a million hours per day so no one
can ever call me ;), talk to everyone online. i laugh a lot, sleep a lot, eat
not a lot. i do a whole lot of being a bored, lame ass college kid.
SG discovery story:so what if it took me until DOTU to love them? i consider myself extrememly
lucky to have found them before they left the stage one final time.
i had SU a few weeks before DOTU came out, and it weirded me out a bit. but i
got DOTU for my birthday and i just went nutso when i listened to it. it was
unreal! unreal... so i went on a rampage trying to find all that which was
soundgarden. had everything (including bmf/somms, believe it or not) within 2
weeks. obsessive? yes. fun? hell yeah!
Favourite Album/songs:fav album(s) are the produced trilogy: BMF, SU, DOTU.
as for fav songs, please don't get me started. nowhere but you (the single
most touching song i think i have ever heard), mind riot, like suicide, 4th of
july, nothing to say, loud love (that intro gives me the chills everytime),
mailman, fell on black days (always makes me want to cry), and there's so many
more that come up at certian times.. . hands all over, head down, drawing
flies, slaves & bulldozers, spoonman (so many memories and jokes tied into
this song) black hole sun... and on and on...
Live Experience:november 21, 1996- philadelphia, pa: i was blessed enough to
see soundgarden one time. oh the beauty!!! = ) it was the first time i'd ever
met my best friend from Mass. in person, and i picked her up from the train
station mere hours before the show. the whole day was electric. at the show, i
was dead center on the rail and you'd better bet i paid for it for weeks
afterwards. but it was truly the most amazing thing that has ever happened to
me. i got kicked in the head, yelled at by bouncers who didn't like my camera
(what hootchie in her right mind wouldn't have snuck a camera in? i got three
shots that came out decent out of 20 taken), smiled at by Kim Thayil, smirked
and growled and stared at by Ben Shepherd, and had water thrown on me from
Chris Cornell. amazing, amazing. the bassist from Tenderloin gave me his pick.
= ) i liked them. when they played helter skelter into boot camp, i nearly
weeped from the beauty. chris's solo version of black hole sun tore my guts
out with its emotion and sheer elegance...it brought the tears back to my eyes
happily. jesus, everything about that night was perfect... they even played
Hands All Over, which was INCREDIBLE and moving! i thought my heart had stopped.
Other bands you like:first of all, i am a late eighties-early ninties Sub Pop hootchie in the
*biggest* way... hater, wellwater conspiracy, sleater-kinney, pearl jam, some
velvet sidewalk, tad, truly, temple of the dog, green river, mudhoney,
nirvana, mother love bone, sebadoh, skin yard, foo fighters, hole, pennywise
(after 'unknown road'), stabbing westward, bjork, radiohead, babes in toyland,
nin, heavens to betsy, bikini kill, lunachicks, beck, poe, sonic youth,
monster magnet, tori amos, flop, L7, elastica, tool, the desert sessions, tom

Any comments:i joined Somms in July of 1996...and can't believe i've been on it for over 2
years now. no way in hell would i have ever been able to deal with the break
up without the list... i love most of the people i've met on Somms and i've
made some damn great friends (big bro! jen! blueman! maria!) crazy place, that
Somms, but it's been a great ride and i'm sure i'll be there when the ride is
over too. chris cornell, get yr butt in gear ;) muchas gracias to koggle for
this site :) much more fun than, uh, *that* one. :) so sue me.
