Who am I?

My name is Doug Haskin. I am originally from Maryland. I was born and raised in a little town called Sabillasville. There wasn't a whole lot to do in Sabillasville, so I figured I wouldn't be disappointed by going to a boring college. So, that's how I found myself here at West Point. The price wasn't bad, either. I am currently a senior (or "firstie" as we are known as here) and I am majoring in computer science. My hobbies include... well, I can't think of anything I like to do here. I guess I like to play the guitar, as well as mess around on the computer.

Check out my friends...

Here's a photo from Christmas two years ago. That's my dad, Ralph, on the left side of the picture, and my brother Keith is on the right. Yes, that stud in the middle is me. Christmas is always a special time of the year since it is the only time I ever go to church, so my parents like to dress me up and take pictures.

Here's a pic from my high school graduation. I went to Catoctin High School in Thurmont, MD. Out of all my friends from high school, I've only stayed in contact with 4 or 5 of them. It's funny that even though I graduated 3 years ago, it still seems like just yesterday... Anyway, click here to read about some of my friends from high school.

This is a picture of Jason (a friend of mine from Arizona) and I in a NYC subway car. This was on the way to Grand Central to catch the train back to West Point. I was feeling slighty dehydrated (to say the least) and you have no idea how much it hurt to force myself to smile. I go to the city a lot, and I usually end up spending a shit load of money whenever I do. Oh well, you only live once, right?

This is me playing in the snow in January '96. It snowed a lot, and we got about 3-4 feet of it. It closed all the airports, so I was three days late getting back to West Point. It wasn't a free ride, though, cause I had to shovel the driveway. Shoveling 3 feet of snow isn't fun at all. It figures; my parents are buying a snow blower after my brother leaves home this summer. I can still remember when snow used to be fun. It meant I could go sledding, it meant school was cancelled, and it meant I could lie in front of the wood stove all day and drink hot chocolate. Now it means I have to freeze my ass off in formation, and walk to class on top of a 3 inch thick sheet of ice.

Here's a picture from last year's Yearling (sophomore) Winter Weekend. The guy to the left is Eric Swanson. He left this wonderful institution last year to pursue more exciting (illegal, I'm sure) civilian dreams in Florida. The guy on the right is Rob Douglas: The Mouth from the South (Alabama, actually). This old man can talk, and talk, and talk like no one I've ever seen. I've only known them both for about a little over two years, but they're pretty good friends. I visited Eric this last summer when I was in Orlando going to a White Zombie concert.

  GO BACK, I SAID!
