March 19
- There is a new Radiohead book out. It is called, "Coming Up for Air" and it includes many pictures and quotes in it.
March 17
- Radiohead are most likely to be one of the headlining bands at Glastonbury '97.
- Extremely reliable sources have been stating that June will be the release month of the new album in the UK.
March 3
- Someone with inside connections (i wish i had those) to capitol records says that the word about the US release of the album is September.
- The official Radiohead website is going to be updated piece by piece so that it will be completely renovated by the time of the new album's release.
Expect a lot of good things from this site... lots of new W.A.S.T.E. merchandise, and get this... OFFICIAL TOUR ANOUNCEMENTS will be posted on the website before
they get to the media!!
- The artwork for the new album and it's publicity is virtually done. I say virtually because there's a tiny bit left to do.
- Radiohead are conributing to the soundtrack for a film called Velvet Goldmine. The soundtrack is being produced by Michael Stipe.
Radiohead have supposedly been asked to contribute a track which has a glam rock feel. The movie, starring Ewan McGregor, should be out in 1998 (hopefully the new album will be out by then too).
- There is a new Radiohead book. I don't know if it is official or not, but here's some info:
Radiohead Illustrated Biography $16.99 Virgin Publications first-ever book features an in-depth biography with full
color illustrations throughout.
February 27
- The March 1st issue of the NME states that Radiohead have completed recording their new album, which is yet untitled,
and are now deciding which tracks should be included on the finished release. According to Colin, the new album will be "more
laid-back, like a stoned Radiohead". Thom said that the only thing left for them to do is decide which
tracks will make the final cut onto the album. The NME states that the album is due in late spring.
- Radiohead might be playing at a Bosnia charity concert called West Aid '97 at Ashton Gate, which is home to Bristol City.
If this concert occurs, with or without Radiohead (other performers include Massive Attack,Placebo, Everything But The
Girl and Texas), it will be on the 13th of July.
February 25
- The Romeo and Juliet Volume II soundtrack is due on the eighth of April. Exit Song [for a film] will be on this CD.
- A new bootleg is being released by KTS. It is called Planet Acoustic.
February 11
I am not sure about this, but it is possible that the first single will be released
on March 11. If this is so, then this should hopefully satisfy us until June, because
each single usually includes 5 or 6 b-sides. And we all know the quality of Radiohead's b-sides...
February 3
A few sources from Capital records have said that the album will be released in the US in June. I don't know if it would be the same for
any other countries, but why should any of YOU get it before US!!! Not fair...
January 21
- Brian Eno has mixed one track for the new album. Thom is doing a track with DJ James Lavelle, and is possibly recording something with Massive Attack. Jonny, on the other hand, is involved in a Bryan Ferry effort.
- The reason the album is delayed, might be because they are still furiously writing new songs. There are more than 30 recorded already, but the album will almost surely NOT be a double album.
- The official page was supposed to debut some of the new songs before the albums official release, but that is not likely to happen now.
- How Can You Be Sure? is going to be on the soundtrack to the movie Nowhere.
- And in an interesting aside, Thom's brother is fronting a band called The Unbelievable Truth. They recently held a gig at the Zodiac in Oxford, which was supposed to be a minor success.
January 16
According to someone who met Phil, the album will definitely be out in late April or early May. A tour will coincide with the album release, and a single will be released before the album (Lift?).
January 15
Thom is recording some vocals for Drugstore's next album.
Brian Eno is going to be mixing some of the tracks on the next album.
January 5
There is a possiblity that the album will be out in February.
It's rumored that the album, cover art, and selection of singles are finished, but that the record company is delaying because of other major releases.
January 4
According to someone who spoke with Colin Greenwood himself, the original date for release was the end of Febraury,
but it's now had to be put back to either the end of April or the beginning of May. Somethig
to do with the record company.
January 4
The rumor in Oxford is also that Radiohead are to headline one of the nights in Oxford Sound City '97.
December 15
Thom has anounced that the band is done recording 30 songs,
and that they're happy with them all.
December 5
The song Exit Song (for a film) will be on the next Romeo and Juliet soundtrack, this should be out in February.
