CRAIG ON THE PHATTY 4-STRING

Besides being the Jive bassist, Craig is a first string player for the Ping-Pong Allstars. He has been with the band since the very begining; he had no choice, they practice in his garage. Along with the rest of the band, Craig has help turn his ordinary garage into 'The House of Jive'. Craig's been playing the bass since about January of '95. Being inspired greatly by Flea, of The Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Robert Trujillo, of Infectious Grooves, and Brian Jones, of PODAD, Craig tries to add a slap-poppin funk sound to their music. Before there was Jive, Craig joined his first ever band, Tilenol, in the summer of 1995. Besides Craig, Tilenol also consisted of the same two guitarists as Jive; but when they switched drummers and got a new singer the band formed into Jive. On the side, Craig has played with other bands such as Bug House, Gold Rush, and most recently Carlos Gonorhea and the Balls of Fire, but none of these bands have taken away from his commitment to Jive. And as a personal favor to Craig, when you come to the next Jive show, bring women - lots and lots of women.
