Kick Rocks!
Here's the photo from the back of the album cover

The album front and back are shown below
"How much blacker could it be?  The answer is:  none."
Before there was Spinal Tap or even Metallica, there was KICK!

"Kick" the album sold a thousand copies (lead? tin? aluminum?)  It was recorded at Sutton Studios in Atascadero California (misspelled on the back cover, by the way...)  and it included a secret hidden message scratched into the vinyl around the center hub.  It said, "If you play it, play it loud".  The photo was taken by my father at the beach north of Morro Rock.

Here's another picture from the same photo shoot.  All of these photos were originally in color, but reprints were made in black and white to keep the cost of the cover art down.

I left the band shortly after the album came out to pursue college and start a family.  Another guitar player was tried for awhile, but then they decided what they really needed was a keyboard player so they could do better cover versions of tunes by bands like Journey, Lover Boy, and Billy Squire.  Some of the bands adventures during this time are documented here.

Here are a couple more photos of me with guitars.  The first is from high school while on a skiing trip.  The second is in a guitar shop in Okinawa Japan.  I'm holding an Ibanez "Road Star".  I've always wanted one of these.  Maybe I'll pick one up in a pawn shop some day...
