"As much as I hate to, I'm afraid I'll have to decline," you answer ruefully. "I don't wanna disappoint my dad. Sorry!"
"Fine," she sighs. "I gotta go get ready. I'll call you tomorrow."
You hang up and sit down, and out of sheer boredom, start working on the crossword puzzle your mom started. (AN: I love crossword puzzles!!! Hehe. Okay, never mind, that was totally off the subject.) After about half an hour, your parents get home and you retreat to your room to get ready for dinner. The restaurant is crowded on a Friday night when you, your parents, and your brother and sister walk in. Thank goodness for reservations. Five minutes later, you've been seated in a corner booth and ordered your drinks. You're looking around the restaraunt dining room, taking in your surroundings, when your mom jumps up and calls out softly to a blonde woman waiting with her family to be seated. The woman, whom your mother called Diana, turns, and you watch her face break into a smile. Your mom starts talking to her, gushing about something like how they'd lost touch and she didn't know if she was ever gonna see her again. Finally, a waitress comes to seat them - at a table very close to yours - and you catch a glimpse of the rest of her family. The first thought that enters your mind is 'My mom knows Diana Hanson??' You stare in shock for a moment, but quickly compose yourself so as to not look obsessed. You wonder if you should...
Wait for your mom to introduce
them
Stand up and introduce
