I felt out of place, like I didn't belong. I was a dirty cigarette with unwanted ashes, in a 'no smoking' zone. I was embarrassed and felt guilty, but I didn't know why. The girls were no longer in the room - so there was no one to be embarrassed in front of - and I didn't even know them, which doesn't really matter, but I guess, it still makes a difference.
Also, I am not sure why I felt guilty. I mean, I didn't do anything wrong. I think guilt is a 'funny' thing, for me anyway. There is always something for me to feel guilty about, from hurting some one's feelings to thinking that I hurt some one's feelings. I reckon guilt will eventually eat me away inside, out.
Here I was, once again alone, and in deep thought. The cold bench I was seated on was directly opposite the food table. Staring at the food, I silently debated whether I should go up and eat something...or not.
Suddenly there were loud screams with incredible depth and volume, most probably coming from the crowd. My ears were practically popping from the unsuspected noise. I couldn't think straight, which just showed how loud the sounds were.
These shrieks were ten times as loud as the ones received for Fragrance's - you remember, the band I'm in with Beth and Candice?! I wondered what stirred the crowd up so much, but only for a millisecond.
Mentally (but almost literally) I slapped myself for being so stupid. I couldn't believe it took me that long to realise Hanson must have come out on stage to perform. Of course, it had to be them! No one else would have received such an enthusiastic respond to their presence (*A.N. Except maybe BSB. j/k*)!
Again, I silently debated whether I should go to the stage and watch or just stay here and listen to the crowds screams and applause. I decided to make my way over to the stage, since it was probably my first and last chance to see them perform 'up close and personal' (Since I'm part of a band, I would get to watch from backstage. Such luck!)
I crept over to the stage area. I am not sure why I crept, I just did. Even so, I reached there in record time, because I couldn't wait to see my favourite band perform.
I ended up at the left side of the stage, according to the audience, and prepared to watch Hanson, profile view. On the opposite side of the stage, to me (the right side) I saw, Avie, Diana, the rest of the Hanson 'clan' and Beth and Candice. They were all happily watching the performance as well. A few other people I didn't know were watching Hanson also on the left side of the stage.
I could feel Candice's eyes piercing me. Even so, I did not look at her to confirm it. I focused my eyes, thoughts and ears on Hanson, to relish this one in a life time opportunity.
Taylor was the closest to me. His face was flushed a deep red, well, not that red, maybe I was exaggerating a little bit. The wide grin, he wore on his face, showed that he was having a tonne of fun. Blonde strands of his hair were falling out of his shoulder-length loose pony tail. His rat tail, which was trailing down his back was nearly two times as long as his famous 'head of hair'.
Zac was performing in the middle of the stage which should have meant I could have seen him second clearest. This wasn't particularly the case, because a high set of symbols were in the way. From what I was able to see, I could tell that he was having the time of his life. Even though he looked sweaty and serious, I knew with no doubt that I saw, definite sparkles in his eyes. I observed, he was doing absolute wonders on the drums.
Plucking his guitar, Isaac, was the furtherest (*A.N. is that a word?? *) member of Hanson from me. I couldn't see his facial expressions from where I was standing. Judging form his body actions he, just like his brothers, seemed like he was very much enjoying himself. His dirty blonde / light brown, 'fuzzy' (in a good looking fashion) was left down. It slightly bounced as he occasionally nodded his head, in beat to the music.
I watched happily, with a small smile on my face while the Hanson brothers played for all they were worth. For me, it had always been - ever since I heard of Hanson - an absolute dream to meet Hanson and watch them perform! Therefore, it was my absolute dream come true.
The first song Hanson played was 'Where's the Love?'. The song sounded different to what I usually hear, which was probably due to Taylor's voice deepening. I didn't mind, because I thought it sounded just as good anyway.
Taylor announced that they would perform 'Madeline'. I was not familiar with that song, since the only chance I ever get to hear Hanson's music - or make that any music - is on my really old radio. Since 'Madeline' hadn't been released as a single (*A.N...yet, we hope :) ) there was no way I could have heard it before.
For this song, Zac hopped off the drums and sang the harmony. I realised it would be hard to sing really high and play drums at the same time! With him, he took those two little shakers thingys.
I listened closely, trying to block out the screams of the many adolescent girls. I found the tune very catchy and addictive, in a good way.
The last song Hanson performed was MMMBop. Zac was back on the drums in a flash for this song. The up-beat tune and harmonies were an absolute delight to the ears.
While listening, and relishing the moment, I tore my eyes away from the brothers to sneak a peek (*A.N. I can rhyme! :) ) , to the other side of the stage. There, everyone was smiling and enjoying themselves, just like me. As I was about to return my gaze to Isaac, Taylor and Zachary, Avie saw me looking.
